Angels, The - After The Rain Lyrics
Who lies on sheets of ice
Who pays for paradise
After the rain
After the rain
Who suffers fools and freaks
After the rain
After the rain
Somebody save me
The water's rising
Sweet Jesus take the blame
Who knows whose star is falling
After the rain
After the rain
Who takes the ancient masterpiece
After the rain
After the rain
Who throws the winning dice
Who lies beneath the ice
After the rain
After the rain
Somebody save me
The water's rising
Sweet Jesus take the blame
Who knows whose star is falling
After the rain
After the rain
Somebody save me
The water's rising
Sweet Jesus take the blame
Who knows whose star is falling
After the rain
After the rain
After the rain
After the rain
After the rain

Narara 83....
I sometimes forget how world class these guys were. Thanks for the reminder.
What a truly great slice of history here. Angels at their very best.
I was Austin Texas recently and saw some great music performed live , from Cajun and Blues right through to post modern punk . The pride the Texans have in their music is so strong. I came away realising for once and for all that 70s and 80s Pub Rock in Australia was a once in a lifetime era and gave the world something real and unique. The vast distances and isolation of the scene meant that it was really only the locals that got to appreciate it in full. We were blessed and anyone around the modern world can now check out what us AUSTRALIANS deep down already knew. This Angels performance sums it up . It does not get better than this . Doc is an Australian treasure .
This live version is so sexed up.
fucking bass line at the beginning, and through out.. We miss Doc and the band. I remember this band as 'Angel City' in the US in my youth. Much under rated in the US. Stupid fucking record producers back then. One of the best Aussie bands, if not the best.
Australia's other ac/dc
0:58 Mick Jagger eat your heart out.
I handed Doc a red rose during one show, back in the mid 80's. He took it and blew me a kiss. I was thrilled.
The only Australian band that is as good as cold chisel. I grew up in this era. Will never see any thing like it again.
One of the great Australian rock and roll bands
I once pinched his red tie off the mic stand after one of their reunited shows. It was drenched it sweat and beer. I gave it to my mate but his Dad lost it. Oh well, the story is more important than the tie, I guess.
Never a better time and never will be in Australian music.Today the faggot boy bands are just a joke compared to Aussie rock
Shit. What an entrance. Doc had so much energy. God bless the Angels. Classic Aussie rock. Legends.
i was there at this festival in 1983 it was freakin awesome !!
MASSIVE !!! I was just talking to the Wife - we grew up in the best times.... Seeing bands like this in Sydney pubs. Along with INXS, Midnight Oil, Dragon, Australian Crawl, Rose Tattoo, AC/DC, Skyhooks, Flowers (Icehouse), Diviniys, Matt Finish, Richard Clapton, Cold Chisel, Mantissa, Mortal Sin, Lotus, Boss, Taipan, The Poor, Diesel, on and on and on...... poker machines buggered that up for everyone ! Bring back music in pubs !!!!
Gabriel on guitar and bass
Angels the Aussie bad ass band
The Doc is in the house.
🎭Ok***here it🎎is let's****rock🤡hottest*in🐺cabra****
R I P DOC ,
Oh man, those were the days. On any given weekend you could go to a pub and see The Angels, Cold Chisel, Midnight Oil, The Radiators, INXS, Mental As Anything. Saw them once at Marconi Stadium on a bill with Cold Chisel and four other bands. Would go back in a second.
Saw The Angels at Tamworth workies club back in 1985 touring for their 2 minute warning album
R.I.P doc.
I saw this band at my school concert, they were then known as The Stars and they certainly were
Umm I think you will find that The Stars were a different band m8.
Before they were The Angels, they were The Keystone Angels.
Yep the The Stars were , Mick Pealing, Mal eastick, Andy Durant , etc
@Anthony Haylock Right on!
And the Stars are still around and making music today and still sound damn good
The blistering level that the angels played at was close to 140 decibels
Have never seen this before, just confirms something I already knew, DOC was the best! So lucky to have seen him perform on several occasions, including solo!
He was the best to deliver the performance of a life time, take me back to the 80's
One of the greatest front men on the planet in his prime!! Fucking amazing man
sure was rip
Here he sounds like a tired old man - slow and flat. The early years were much better. The Angels After The Rain 1978 https://youtu.be/c9SSmfTyh3o
Doc and the boys came to Toowoomba just after he broke his leg but even in a wheel chair he gave 110 percent .And the crowd went wild.
Bloody brilliant. RIP Doc
They are possibly, considered, regarded as the second best Australian rock band ever of all time right behind the grestest, mightiest, deadly, dangerous Ac/dc, Acadaca.
Le son dechire sa race j adore cool 😎😎😎😎
brilliant live show...thankyou
WOW I Forgot how good he was. One night at the Seaview Ballroom in St Kilda, they played up stairs and they were on fire. Icehouse Angels and the Rose Tattoo on same bill
Big nite
Yeah, there were some great gigs from some great bands late last century. I sometimes forget how lucky I was to have grown up on the East Coast (NSW) where all the touring bands of the time (late 70''s, the 80's) when we had bands constantly touring through our area, just like yours by the sounds of it. Compared to the live music scene of today it was Heaven. Today there are poker machines but no venues for muso's to hone their skills and perfect their craft, let alone provide a night out for punters like we were in our youth. Just money stealing machines more addictive than heroin or nicotine and no social redemption. I guess there's this YouTube thingy but it's not the same. There's no sweat, vomit, alcohol smoke, blood and fucking loud Marshall Stacks with real tight bands that just blew our minds. I miss those days.....
Another great Aussie band!!!
Genius. Pure genius.
Damn so bloody good
One of the best bands I ever saw. I would see them night after night. True legends.
👼 angels stir my british batter
The intro.. was that a long jump attempt.??
Trop bien, j'adore cette rythmique en introduction !
best front man ..watabout the entry lol
They came to play in Hamilton NZ and it fair pissed down and sadly i never got hear them play. one of the best f..kin bands to come out of OZ. Sad that we dont hear this sort of music anymore me thinks.
Narara ‘82.
Actually, 1983
Fuck The Kinks
fk thats good!
such an under rated band by a lot of critics but Doc and the boys were friggin AWESOME
such a good band gesus we had some of the best rock bands in the universe
Rip doc
I was a Freshman in High School when I first heard this band. Don’t think I’ve ever heard anything better since and probably never will.
Timeless!
Great after a few coldies!
Saw Doc and The Angels at the ANU in Canberra in '79 - crazy night, will never forget how good it was
The Angels have brought out some ove the very best music
They were not just good they were FUCKING GODS! The Angels were getting $5000 a gig in the 70s they were the premium Australian rock band
Doc Nelson was great .
Doc Neeson you mean?
Doc was the best I wish they could reform if only 1 more concert I hope he is making great songs in heaven
Doc was very expressive and could have done mime, even theater!
And to think they were a blue grass band before
He was a real livewire wasnt he, say him in Cairns many years ago cheers
probably one of the best bands the world has ever seen
MOST UNDER-VALUED BAND ON PLANET EARTH<---------------<<<
R.I.P DOC ROCK ON IN HEAVEN! LEGEND!!!!!
330kV 330kV Isn't it a matter of opinion? Maybe you are here to dictate opinion? I say that they were one of the best! I don't think it can be refuted. I'm entitled to have my opinion I am not arguing yours. What are you one of those liberal nut bags that must inflict your opinion on everyone?
@Barbra Lerner Spectre woah! Lady calm down
Best Live band I've ever seen and I've seen plenty !!
Man i played a tape of this gig at least 2 times a day for a couple of years. As far as im concerned... Nothing they ever recorded topped this gig, the sound, the energy...Its just superb. absolute top of their game. I saw the Angels with Guns and Roses at the entertainment centre in 1989. Guns and Roses were superb that night, but the Angels fucking blew them off the stage- Doc was out in the crowd up in the seats in rising seats- it was ridiculous for the front man of an opening act. But there he was killing it...Even Guns and Roses aknoweldged that performance in later interviews...R.I.P great man.
unbelievable!!!!
For some reason I woke up this morning with this song in my head .I haven't listened to it for years but dug up an Angels cd .Then went out to the shed to make sure my Angels 45 singles were still ok .Wow .Saw the Angels a few times live ....crazy rockin nights ....maybe a flashback !
Aaaaaarrrrgggghhhh who took the gold from their teeth?
I saw doc and the boys live. Awesome. What a great talented band. And there tuff 👌🏻😎👍🏻🇦🇺 Aussie tuff 👍🏻🇦🇺✅

and your best
I worked at Gosford Hospital then, and we got in all the od's from the music festivals.
I snuck in for free by using my mate, Mongo's staff number for the catering company he was working for.
lol
Norm, Great work with the lights Cobber
;)
Another great Aussie band from the 80's. We did not know it then, but it was as good as it got.
so true Peter.
Best front Man in Aussie Rock ever... Rip The Doc Neeson.
They started out Power Pop, looked Punk & sounded Metal but weren't either! Just good Hard Rock!
Docs entrance is the best ever, imo
I didn't know he passed away ! He just stopped performing
to the 10 people whom disliked the video, fuck off
Incredible!
epic show Narara..saw the same tour here in adelaide

Nach so vielen Jahren. Immer noch fantastisch die Truppe. Und Doc. Gott hab ihn selig.

Brings back soo many great memories
Privileged to have seen this brilliant frontman and awesome band LIVE several times. Memories that will stay with me always.
