Anderson, Jon - Wonderous Stories Lyrics
I awoke this morning
Love laid me down by a river
Drifting I turned on upstream
Bound for my forgiver
Sound did silence me
Leaving no trace
I beg to leave, to hear your wonderous stories
Beg to hear your wonderous stories
He spoke of lands not far
Or lands they were in his mind
Of fusion captured high
Where reason captured his time
In no time at all he took me to the gate
In haste I quickly checked the time
If I was late I had to leave to hear your wonderous stories
Had to hear your wonderous stories
Hearing
Hearing
Hearing your wonderous stories
Hearing your wonderous stories
It is no lie I can see deeply into the future
Imagine everything
You're close
And were you there to stand
So cautiously at first and then so high
As he spoke my spirit climbed into the sky
I bid it to return
To hear your wonderous stories
Return to hear your wonderous stories
Hearing
Hearing
Hearing
Hearing
Hearing

I love this album ...not the cover ...miss Roger Dean
Thumbs down duck rite off dad people
YES! Better than Optus. Such a Brilliant Band...................................... Hearing, Hearing Hearing
From 1:47 to 1:53 , Wakeman lowered pitch no matter in which direction he played the keyboard. Pure wizardry! May be that's why they performed in pyjamas.
Amo essa música!!!
This should be an ending song for JoJo part 7
Such a magical album with Rick Wakeman back! The icing on the cake would have been having Bill Burford on drums, but still magical no less.....
This is one the anthems of my childhood. An era of music that will never be forgotten. We will never experience purity like this ever again
They look like the Nolans 😃
Great track
The best Yes song from the best Yes album IMHO. I remember first hearing it on the Radio Luxembourg Top 40 when it blasted straight into their top 10 sounding like nothing else around at the time (or before, or since!) It seemed to have something of a religious feel, though if church music was half as fantastic as this I bet a lot more people would want to go. After hearing the follow-up Going For The One single, the album was one of the first albums I ever bought (I was only 12). Just 5 tracks but every one of them totally unique and very different from each other - not something you can say about most Yes albums (although Time And A Word has lots of great songs and 90125 was an absolute tour-de-force IMHO too!)
🇧🇷👏👏👏
What a great song,it was about 1981 when I returned to my motorcycle and saw a young lady there and we got talking and she was into yes that's what got me,
unicos, genios GENIO ANDERSON, GENIO HOWE, GENIO CRIS,
sheer magnificence......70's music at its best
..please let us understand the civilization pre the mudflood 1810! Frequency Electicity! The Greats! had they possession of the angelic Earth understandings of science! that they will not rule us?
My favotite Yes song.
Bound for My Forgiver...................................
Goosebumps 🥰🥰 all these years later. Spectacular
Still remember hearing "Going for the one" on the Old grey whistle test, it blew me away then as a teenager, and still sends shivers down my spine over 45 years later whenever I hear it again.
One of my favorite Yes songs. Wakemans keyboard makes me feel as if i am in another land. Unfortunately i never got to see them in concert.....
Real musicians... Composers and performers.. R. I. P. Mr Squire...
my older brother gave me this album for my birthday although my music taste changed a lot i still love the yes album
Fantastic
What a voice!
I'm listening to this and remembering my beautiful dog Schindler who died earlier this year. He really was a fantastic companion and had an amazing soul. When we do meet again I'm sure we will exchange many wonderous stories.
He spoke of lands not far nor lands they were in His mind
of fusion captured high where reason captured His time
In no time at all He took me to the gate

Jon has such a high voice. I could never match those notes years ago never mind now 😊
A melhor de todas as bandas em todas as épocas
I used to love this song, and I still do.
Everyone played their part superbly on this track (apart from Alan White who is somewhat in the dark) but Chris Squires bass playing and backing vocals are exceptional - bless him
Maravilhoso
I remember listening to this, the summer sun was shining, the world somehow seemed a better and brighter, more hopeful place and life seemed so much more joyful and easier. We Miss You Chris.
This and Awaken true masterpieces from that album.
Saw Rick Wakeman last week what a true Gentleman , Yes a band of our times
Watching this in 2025...now has 25,689,090 hits...time travel is wonderful.
Lost none of its magic over the intervening years, still touching, evocative of the era, and never fails to move me, I guess you had to be around at the time, and I feel very fortunate that I was.......😊
70s in Miami 🔥
Harry Potter......There really is something called Magic - YES!

Was Breathtaking 45 years ago, and still is.

Still so f,,..good in 2019-----------
So many falsetto voices but Jan Anderson had the best. Loved Rick Wakeman on keyboards too....
Who else thinks Steve Howe could win a Billy Bob Thornton look a like contest. And vice a versa ?
My favorite "radio friendly" YES song. I've been a fan since 1971. The still play on my iPod every day.
I saw them at Newcastle city hall in the early 70 s. Happy memories. Come flooding back.
A melhor banda de sempre
I remember EVERY time I left a Yes concert( more than 10) the whole crowd was in tune with itself, filled with smiles, goodwill and peace as we danced our way back to our cars. A magical band indeed.
Chris Squire.
Such a giant, physically and musically, miss him soo much ❤

Dahhhh?
Listening to Yes since 1973--the first year of college. Also, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Jethro Tull etc.
The sources of the inspirations for their music might be impossible to describe. Thanks very much for the people who know to put this music on YouTube.
We are grateful for your time and efforts!!
Wondrous indeed. Thank U Jon for your wondrous stories for all of 50 years for me.
Around the 3 minute mark, on this great song, listen to Steve's guitar. Absolutely BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!
GOD!!!!! what a beautiful voice Jon has. During this era of music, he was right up there as being the best. I'd have to include Greg Lake as well.
I am still wonderous. Xx
There's a doc on YT about the making of this album that is amazing. You get to watch them develop and produce the songs.
Awaken is right up there with The Gates of Delirium and Close to the Edge.
É uma das músicas mais #lindas que já ouvi na minha vida, 🌹🥀🌺🌷⚘🌻💞😍🎼🎵🎶🎸
Perfection. 😍
I never grow tired of this song!
all the yes fans i met last year were all talking about how ARW yes was the real yes, or the other way around but when i listen to this im just cant we just love the music for what it is, not who sings or plays on it
Lovely song. I’ve got the chills. My parents passed last December. I get the chills quite a lot. We used to listen to music way back. Thank you.
Angelic sound. Loved this song for decades.
My youth, still carries me away. Dreams of things to come. Pure place to be.
So great, howe's jazzy licks at the end are magical 🌈
It was in 1978. We was hearing this beautifull song with my girl friend Laurence. She is dead but this song remain...

The best track on this brilliant album and brings back memories of growing up in the fab 70’s.
I LOVE THIS BAND
Became my favourite song🙌
They never become a real huge in The US market....but Europe wide and Asia they are celebrated very well
E dizer que sucesso hoje é Anita. Putz. A que bosta de mundo essas gravadoras e produtoras nos levaram.
I still cant stop listening to this song!!!!!!!!!!
Pure magic, proper music.
September 2019 still brilliant and ahead of their time
