What a remarkable career! Animation is definitely a pinnacle -- great musicians, great vibe, and some wonderful world jazz. And of course the best instrument in the world -- Jon's voice! Thanks for posting, MGM!

So many mind-blowing Solo-albums by Jon Anderson, this music-workaholic, „Animation“ being one of them.
Long live Jon and his incredible voice.

Animation itself is an incredible album, only dwarfed by "Olias of Sunhillow" -both relatively obscure compared to the mega success and still living legacy of "Yes" but still live on and help capture fans alike.


I think its a neat idea, though if we did have a 'world peace breakout' more likely they'd be used to generate energy especially with escalating global warming issues. Or, as Carl Sagan suggested, use them to power nuclear spacecraft to send ships quickly through the solar system so easy manned missions and to push interplanetary probes to near lightspeed and then slow them down for like a billionth the cost of conventional rocketry. (launch FROM orbit, of course)




IMO one of the best things to do for global warming, short of the short term sulfur dioxide injection would be to start burying carbon. There was a neat proposal of growing forests in places that had lost forest or new areas if could be irrigated sanely - then cutting down the trees and burying them then repeating... BUT - you know the obvious - the wood would be poached as the lumber industry lobbied, bribed, threatened darknet assassins on politicians to free up the wood... It'd be like waving chickens over starving crocodiles but not tossing one in ever...


SO - the idea is, stop recycling paper and bury it. Grow new forest, re-plant cut down forest like all those now burnt/stripped and empty "Housing boom" atrocities - make the property barons rip them down and replant or pay to do so. Then harvest the forest regularly for new paper, collect used paper and bury it, keep up the process. Non recycling paper is bad if you cut down trees you don't replace leading to erosion. If trees are cut down to use but grown and more forest where practical is planted and even new forest is created where feasible its only a question of energy and economy - the goal of pulling carbon dioxide out of the air a good by product.

WOW,i just had this song in my head for e vew days,had to find out with TOMT/Reddit the title,so happy now,its great song.....kinda strange it pups op in my head after 30+years,i dont listen to radio,and was home the whole week,maybe on TV some play it as backgroung tune,or my brain is strange.....or both,lol

36 years later and I still listen to this song, and love singing it myself, while driving or under the shower, or whatever the setting is.

Thank you, MetalGuruMessiah; this is flippin' beautiful. I especially like the bit at about 1:40 (and again at 2:49) where the crowd noise turns into Major Kong's "Yahooooos!" as he rides the H-bomb down toward its target. But seriously, this is REALLY nice and I appreciated. it. It really made my afternoon, some stranger sitting here in the New York City suburbs, 6+ years later.

in the future, billions of people wil die from starvation, because we wil run out of suitable farmland to feed 20 billion people with, and we wil run out of oil some day,
and without oil there's no fertilizer, so al farmland on earth will provide way less food than now, and then there's the problem of fresh water, because nothing
grows without fresh water, and then there's the problem of how to harvest the food and take it to the processing factories and then transport it to the shops, because al that takes also
alot of energy that only the rich countries can affort, so instead of happy times, the world wil become a hell for billions of people, and only the rich and strongest countries wil survive,
and only when they throw political correctnes overboard and kill all sjw's and snowflakes, because else they go down the toilet aswell. And a hughe wall around the rich countries is needed, because half the worlds population wil try to get in, and they can't have that, because it's already over populated by then.
Hell, life, the earth, trees, planets, plants, animals, people, it's al about the survival of the fittest! Wipe out one thing and another thing wil take it's place.
i'm glad that i live now in a time where we have stil plenty of everything, and i sure don't want to swap with the generation that wil live beyond the year 2100
because it wil be a time of alot of wars, and al about the last recources, so there wil be no peace for at least another century and a half.

Luckily, the aliens are babysitting our stupidity. Thank you so much, my friends.

No me odien!!!. Pero en la realidad una sola bomba atómica detonada en órbita generaría un PEM que apagaría al menos a la mitad de la electricidad de un país ( el blackout) por lo que se tiene prohibido desde los años 60 o 70s la detonación nuclear en el espacio.

Lo curioso y a la vez hermoso de la canción sería que todos los misiles nucleares ( que rondan los 8000 a 20000 Aprox) se detonaran como fuegos artificiales por una noche alrededor del mundo y así acabar con la guerra con una celebración internacional donde todo el mundo fuera testigo.

De no ser por el dato que di anteriormente....

LOL! Yeah, you know sometimes it's a difficult choice to insert other stuff in the songs....purists might not enjoy, but the celebratory atmosphere of the tune seemed to lend itself to a little more.....and Maj. "King" Kong was always just so damn happy riding his bomb to oblivion, I couldn't resist. Nice to hear you enjoyed with the choice.

...now if I can just find a video to put Dr. Strangelove (Peter Seller) into?!?! Gotta think about that.

Thanks for making such a cool video to a wonderful song from a fabulous album! I was lucky to get to see Jon Anderson's Animation tour at an elegant old opera house in New Orleans; and afterwards I was able to interview Jon for an article I wrote that was publshed the next day in the Baton Rouge, La. newspaper. It was a magical night that still leaves me buzzing when I reflect on it. My favorite song from the album and show was "Animation", about the birth of his daughter Jade.

Thanks Ludo....this was one of the very first songs I worked on when I began to create the videos.....took me awhile, but I always knew there would be at least one big fan (maybe not of the video particularly, but of the song at least)...since I do recall you liking this song.

Yeah, 1982....wow, we've gotten some years behind us now, haven't we? LOL! We get older but the songs sound exactly as they always did....that's kinda cool! It is still a great tune with a positive message!
