alexithymia i had this feeling sometimes, but i regret it in the end of the day. That's stupid tho.

Its a disorder resulting from extreme physical or emotional trauma. Not your passing emotional fancy

Only thing remotely alexithymic to me is the line "there is more to living than being alive". Other than that this sheds no light onto alexithymia. Basically imagine a world where your bodily sensations weren't emotions. Emotions are only logical experiences with no bodily sensations associated with them. It's like being blind or deaf yet unaware. Once you realize this then you realize that there is more to living than being alive.

Such a great comment, point. Does more for the description of alexthymia very quickly than the song or wiki.
Maybe the lyrics are full of only descriptions where otherwise emotions would have been triggered, conveyed..? I know I'm not afflicted since even just looking at a record player can make me so nostalgic I could cry... here, a glance just results in a blase' description...but being alarmed by silence; describing the alarm at it right there invalidates the whole experience as true alexthymia.
Good point, it's a catch 22 in itself and I've always kinda found that interesting, if not maybe insulting to those who cannot describe what it feels like. Only thing the song got right, maybe..? In not being able to expose or shed any light on the disorder, the song in itself has lost emotional connection to those it's title alludes to.

People get them mixed up because of itunes i brought reclusion of them thinking it was reclusion but it was alexithymia i was like wait what so then i had to purchase alexithymia to get reclusion and rename them both.

Technically it's not a disorder. Also, instead of referring to a personality trait it can also refer to the temporary state of being unable to describe your emotions, which is probably what the song is referring to.

@fredfredburger06 my guess is that there's been a problem with one of the major downloading sites. My friend first downloaded this album and Reclusion and Alexithymia had their titles mixed up. However, even major legit music stores like iTunes have this song listed as Reclusion. I'm not sure any more.
