Thus is fucking nostalgic for me. I remember my mom playing this on a cassette player in our station wagon as she delivered cheesecakes to restaurants in Atlanta. We'd ride in the back which was totally illegal and she'd play this really loud. This song reminds me of her struggle, my youth, and playfulness. I didn't know why she played this till now. Thank you Amy for helping me my mom and I'm sure a helluva a lot of other people.

Unfortunately, to many, this song "Thy Word," based on Psalm 119:105, is nothing but a sweet sounding song that relates to no deep passion for the Lord Almighty's Holy Writ (a.k.a. the Holy Bible; the Holy Scriptures; the Word of God, with "Word" denoting "Message" not a singular term as the mind may be tricked to think by the singular form; etc) that compels the individual to genuinely delve into the Holy Writ by reading, studying, memorizing, & meditating upon it to see what it actually says & to live what it says the Lord Almighty desires of every individual, for such passion is absent, self-interest occupying that individual's consciousness instead. There is no conviction about not tending appropriately to the Holy Writ's pages of announcements, declarations, principles, & commandments or no, on the other hand, "Yum!"/"Amen!" moment at hearing even just the phrase "Thy Word," which reaction will happen in the heart of the individual genuinely preferring & yearning for the Creator-Saviour, truly desiring to know Him more & to serve Him more. As it is written, "More to be desired are they [i.e. 'His communications,' such being contained in His Holy Scriptures] than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is Thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward" (Psalm 19:10-11).
But some have tried to convinve themselves that the Creator does not exist & that the Saviour He came as through the uterus of a Jewish young woman named Mary over 2,000 years ago did not exist & those ones & others, who claim they do believe according to what has just been stated above, do not even think the Holy Bible contains the actual expressions of the mind of the same Almighty (rf. Revelation 1:8; Isaiah 9:6-7; et al). So Proverbs 30:5 falls on deafened ears: "Every word of God is pure: He is a shield unto them that put their trust in Him."
But things are even more dire in humanity than thus, for some human beings who profess to being "Christian" really don't even believe the next verse after Proverbs 30:5 or else they would not treat the Holy Bible so flippantly & assert that it says things that it really does not: "Add thou not unto His words, lest He reprove thee, and thou be found a liar."
The similar Revelation 22:18-19 & Galatians 1:6-10 are also neglected: "For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book"; "I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ."
Unfortunately, as if things aren't dire enough, Satan has particular vile human beings inventing "versions" which are supposedly of the Holy Bible but which are altered significantly so as to hide things that the Lord Almighty did have His original writers to write down in the autographs of the Holy Canon. Without me elaborating on this matter & detailing which "versions" I am aware of which are deliberate attempts to adulterate the Holy Bible, I'll just say that I highly recommend the King James Version (KJV), a.k.a. the Authorized Version, which does preserve the exact identity of Jesus of Nazareth as being Yahweh Incarnate (rf. Isaiah 7:10-14; 9:6-7; 1 Timothy 3:16; John 1:10-12; 20:27-29; 6:45-46 with 14:1 & 5-9 & 12:45; Romans 9:5; Acts 20:28; Matthew 28:18 with Revelation 1:8; Romans 8:9 & 2 Corinthians 13:5-6 with Joel 2:28 & Acts 2:17; Psalm 47:2 & 7 with 1 Timothy 6:14-16 & Revelations 19:11-16; et al); which does preserve what He expects of everyone who desires to be reconciled unto Him & thus be saved from sin & its consequences & to be empowered against the devil & his demonic ilk ("genuine belief," rf. John 8:23-24 & 11:25, which will lead to "obedience" of the command to "repent," rf. Matthew 4:17 & Luke 13:3 & 5, will further lead to, by "continuing genuine belief," "water baptism in Christ Jesus' name," rf. John 4:1-2, 3:3-7, Luke 24:46-47, Mark 16:16, et al, as well as "the infilling of Christ Jesus' Spirit ," rf. Luke 24:49 & John 7:37-39, which event will result in the initial sign of "new tongues," rf. Mark 16:17 -- all of which is shown obeyed & administered & shown in Acts 2, 8:12-17, 9:10-19 (with 1 Corinthians 14:18), Acts 10:44-48/11:13-18, 16:27-34, 19:1-7, 1 Corinthians 6:11, Romans 6, Colossians 2:6-15, et al -- & "development of the fruit of the Spirit," rf. Galatians 5:22-25. Any falling short of this is not obeying "Thy Word" & is therefore not a Christian.

Thats what gives this track its time spefic power.Its an instrument of a new age used for the ancient purpose of worship.Today it has the added layer of nostalgia for people,places and media from that time. You have to place yourself and meditate with longing. If you listen with new ears of judgement youll mistake it for "cheesy" .

He said, that He gives Life to the dead, even as He took His Life up from the dead. He said He is the author of Life! That's quite powerful! So its not just love being spread, but true Life, in the name of Jesus.
Love is the highest we can achieve, but if a person is dead they cannot know love - so the hope in Him is very great.

The thing our culture has tried to snuff out, is that He gives Life now! Being Christian is not a new set of rules...its freedom.

Why is it a problem to believe in something bigger than you? Whether you believe it's true or not, it's only the nutcases, the "Bible thumpers" that make it a bad thing. Christian means Christ-centered. Jesus never acted like those people do. If you live your life using Jesus as your example all you are doing is spreading love and compassion. That is NOT a bad thing. This world needs more love and compassion.
