I'd never read the lyrics to this song before. After a head injury 21 years ago, my short-term memory was messed up, and depression and hopelessness set in. By the next Christmas, things had improved only slightly. Then, a friend asked, 'Do you remember...' about a past Christmas, and there was a blank. Crying, I prayed for the scene to to come back. The next day, I saw our group as went from house to house, caroling and visiting, and the gift I slipped into his pocket. What was lost was being restored again! We talked over so many things that day, and my heart, brain and spirit began at last to heal.
