Love this cover. I actually didn't know the original, and was introduced to it through this...

I really love Tori's voice, and think she's a very talented song writer. But she made this version of rattle snakes a little too slow and moopy for my taste. That being said, still enchanting. 2nd best behind the orig Lloyd Cole.

It's so hard to love when love was your great disappointment.

I really hated that album. .think I'll have to listen to it again (it's Been like 7 years) to appreciate it.

It's definitely a grower. New Age, '97 Bonnie and Clyde, Strange Little Girl, Time, I Don't Like Mondays, Heart of Gold, Raining Blood and Real Men are the highlights for me.

They're cover songs, many of them IMO with not the best interpretation. Weird for the sake of being weird. I understand her '97 Bonnie & Clyde is "artistic" and "bold" etc. But it's really not enjoyable to listen to. Pretty sure SLG was created primarily for contract fulfillment. Only real standout tracks are Rattlesnakes, I Don't Like Mondays and SLG. Time, Heart of Gold and New Age are OK... but "OK" is not a compliment when rating Tori songs.

Some I instantly loved this and Heart of Gold, whereas '97 Bonnie and Clyde isn't pleasant to listen to, as someone said, but interesting just for the sake artistically of it being from a female point of view. I haven't listened to the album in years, to be honest. I'll have to revisit to reevaluate - I just came here to show my husband this version, as he wasn't familiar...

I'm curious to see what my older self makes of it, as it came out when I was in college, lol... God, that makes me feel old...
