This is fuckin Amorphis. Their old shit is great, their new shit is good. But here , in the middle, this is the best. When Tomi was relatively new and had something to prove, you could feel it in his lyrics. Or maybe ive just had too much to drink.... i know i love this album though.

Not sure how I'm just finding out about these guys. Especially with as may discs as they have out. They remind me a little of Voyager combined with Katatonia.

"Under The Red Cloud" is so fucking brilliant, their best album since "Tales From The Thousand Lakes" in my opinion. Every song an earworm. So many styles of metal in their albums, can't range it. But this melodies, this power, this unique voice. There are many fantastic bands, but no other sounds like Armorphis. The last album is so great, i torture regularly the replay button...

perfect combination of melody , drive and angst.. a proven formula for these guys..love the way they write and i love the crispness of the guitars so there not buried in the mix and the vocals are spot on..but the stars of this show for me and my ear are the tightness of the drummer and bass player and the fact that i hear every bass note every little fill and cymbal...very well produced and played..never gave em much thought in the sea of metal..but whilst sailing i happened upon these guys..and now i am a fan

It's incredible but this band just gets better and better. All the Joutsen era albums are incredible and I'm ready to put Amorphis at the very top together with 80's Maiden as my favorite bands of all time.

Is this that same death metal band of 90s ? I was looking into some old school death metal , i found their early albums amazing i camed to check out the latest ones WHAT A FUCK IS THIS ????????????????????????????????

For me a it's a regression in their sound but a evolution for their bank's account if you know what i mean, but i respect your opinion .

I hear this kind of thing every time a band changes its direction: "They sold out." I bet you didn't really even look into them before you made that assumption. They've had several albums (with their former lead singer) that were almost exclusively clean vocals and short on melodies. If anything, the past two albums (Circle and Under a Red Cloud) are by far the heaviest they've done SINCE their straight death metal days. Go listen to "Death of a King", the other single from this album, or "Shades of Gray" from their last album.

I'm not really railing on you personally here, it's just the "they sold out" argument really grinds my gears. It's completely unfair to bands that want to grow.

They still make songs similar to Black Winter Day, such as The Four Wise Ones. I think Tomi just likes to experiment with different vocal styles, which is refreshing in music (and clearly he is very good at this). You could compare it to what In Flames did, in a way, but not too extreme.

Hey, I'm the same guy and i've got the chance to see them live, and I will never regret any second from that concert, just one Of The BEST gigs I've ever seen. They played Black Winter Day and The Castaway which were the first songs by them I heard, but I inmediatly fell in love with their music after that gig. This guys are just amazing.
