I love this song but one thing about the lyrics intrigues me: "They (...) who say that music reckon that the kantele was fashioned by God", I don't really get what they are saying here. Is it maybe just broken English (like it should be "music reckonS"), can anyone help me out here? ;)

It's a translation from Finnish, a quite literal word for word one. What they are saying is that music is not an otherworldly gift. While the Kantele itself in legend was fashioned by divine hand, human experience, and in particular suffering, shapes and creates the music played on it.

It makes sense grammatically, if 'that music reckon' is a sub-clause that describes 'who'. So, 'they' are the people that reckon music. And what they say is that the kantele was fashioned by god etc.
