American Head Charge - When The Time Is Never Right Lyrics

I don’t expect you to ever understand
What it is that moves inside of me
Always expected to bear the worst of it
Expectations to be first

It is just something to shake your fragile little tree
I'm ripping all your fruit away
That you grip so tightly
So no one can taste it
Because I know you hate it
When the time is never right

I'm luring in the guilt
Perfection torments me
To see them all through your eyes from above
Soaked in all the sweat and all the blood
Doomed within without
Soaked in the sweat and all the blood
Doomed within

It is just something to shake your fragile little tree
I'm ripping all your fruit away
That you grip so tightly
So no one can taste it
Because I know you hate it
When the time is never right

This lasting impression when I close my eyes
Is haunting me and wishing me well
This lasting impression when I close my eyes
Is haunting me and wishing me well
It’s haunting me

It is just something to shake your fragile little tree
I’m ripping all your fruit away
That you grip so tightly
So no one can taste it
Because I know you hate it
When the time is never right
When the time is never
When the time is never right

God damn this song is so fucking powerful. Without doubt one of the most absolutely underrated and profoundly inspiring bands. The “problem” is they are too fucking real and as with any form of art the emotions they convey are far too painful and with such a viscerally impacting delivery and a combination of a very sad and tragic story. But thats the Road. It wasn’t meant to be any other way. Just like my writing... THE “PROBLEM” IT FUCKING SCARES THESE GOD DAMNED MINDLESS MASSES OF GOD DAMN SOFT ASS PUSSIES. Sorry guys you were too real for this world. I think thats a better accomplishment than all the gold records you can put on a wall. FUCK EM ALL.

“when I close my eyes its haunting me and wishing me well... “

    Miss you Chad!!!

  3. Carboncrossroads

Probably my favorite song on the album. Buy doesn't the opening guitar riffs sound an awful lot like "To be me" on The Feeding?

  4. UnderlinedInc

    Miss you already, Chad.

Rest in Peace, Chad Hanks.... When the time is never right.

Chad himself wrote this song I spoke to him about at a show. Gets me very emotional thinking about that moment and that conversation while listening to this song.

I really love you guys and this song. 1:02 to 2:02 makes me reflect on how i would see myself in the long distant future. Living alone in a dusty old house, sat on a rocking chair with the only source of light being coloured Christmas lights wrapped delicately around the rocking chair, whilst a full moon glazes gracefully through the frosty glass of my living room window..

Awesome outro for a great album!

  9. Si Nut

This is my shit right here!

  10. Dylan Boyd

Their art and lyrics always reminded me of the Vienna Actionist group for some reason. Wish they would come back and play Dublin Ireland again, they kicked ass when they played with Mudvayne he a few years back now. Keep rocking' out the deadly tunes lads! \m/
