America - Walk In The Woods Lyrics

Would it matter to you
If we just took a walk
To see where this path leads to
Maybe stop in awhile
Lay down, see you smile
Looking up at those clouds in view

It doesn't matter that the sky isn't blue
A walk in the woods will do
Sometimes it's better just being alone
Being alone with you

With the snow in your hair
A crystal halo you wear
While the chill winter air streams through
Amid the birch and the oak
Smell the fireplace smoke
And the warmth we will go home to

It doesn't matter that the sky isn't blue
A walk in the woods will do
Sometimes it's better just being alone
Being alone with you

Oh whoa ...

It doesn't matter that the sky isn't blue
A walk in the woods will do
Sometimes it's better just being alone
Being alone with you
Being alone with you

America Walk In The Woods Comments
  1. T.... S....

Dewey brilliantly interpreting stunning scenery and the magical feeling of contentment with a special person, then finding just the right, walking pace and calming melody. Can't you just picture the snow, the trees and the light, and feel someone's hand in yours? Mmmm....

Feel sorry for the 15, uh, 'people' (I'll go with that word after backspacing through 'clowns') who gave this song a thumbs down. Either you're deaf, or you have no clue what comprises a great song.

Can't stop writing about America! There's always something nostalgic and slightly sad about Dewey's compositions and Gerry's too....which is appealing as there's always something sad about beauty.

  5. T.... S....

Dewey does it once again! He captures atmospheres so well! He's got a real gift for this. Here, we are relaxed and contended, kicking up snow (or leaves in autumn). It's a crisp day and the light is bright. Everything's right with the world. Thanks Dewey for helping us escape from harsh reality sometimes.

    Such a beautiful rhythm...

Amazing that in 2018 i'm still finding new delights in this band that i've loved and treasured since 1977. Also the song totally reflects how i feel at my mid 50's: Peace and love at last. <3

    A-Z Lyrics A AMERICA Lyrics
    "Here & Now" (2007)

  21. M.... A....

    adoro ESSA musica.

    M.... A....

eu também ... simplesmente linda .....

  22. I.... B....

rediscovering how brilliant they were and still are...

  23. p.... ....

Is possible that Dewey Bunnell's voice keeps getting better as years go by??  Great song

    p.... ....

As good wine. It sounds less "twen" and more adult. The same is true for Ian Gillan, maybe also because he now sings in a lower key than on Child in time.

    p.... ....

Benoit Vanhees Not,realy,it is a studio album,at shows........mostly Gerry had lost his young Voice.

  24. B.... V....

It's not just bands like Asia or Ultravox that remain faithful to their old fans. This song too is such a delicious treat, apparantly specially made to please yesterday's audience. A very respectful bow to Dewey & co ! How the heck did that bus ended up in that place... ?

  25. D.... S....

Beautiful lyrics and they have not lost their special sound.♥

  26. t.... ....

Chubbybeng you and I are doing the same thing in September of 2012, catching up with old America memories. I love the Hearts album. Had such a huge crush on Gerry! I was 12 in 1975. Dewey does sound great on this song.

  27. c.... ....

I am listening to this song for the first time in September 2012. Bringing my mind back to 1975...Hearts album....my favourite. I really love this song in 2012. Question to myself...would I have loved this song as much in 1975 as if I heard it back then for the first time? YESSSSS. It's timeless. I feel like 15 again. Life was so good back then. Thank you America!!!

  28. D.... M....

Dewey hasn't aged....this song could easily be from the 1970's. Beautiful song.

  29. l.... ....

a simple beautiful song by Dewey wraps up the HERE & NOW album and its a fine finale. I particularly like how the walking piano line contrasts with the melody towards the end.

  30. V.... C....

    Sigh...Dewey

  31. G.... B....
