America - Three Roses Lyrics
Sitting by the fireside with a book in your hand
Two lazy dogs sittin' watchin' your man
Three roses were bought with you in mind
Three roses were bought with you in mind
Stop and feel what I want I gotta
Stop and see what I'm on about
Stop and feel what I want with you
Ah
Walking through a wonderland, I got you by the hand
Every move we made, just as if it were planned
Three roses were bought with you in mind
Three roses were bought with you in mind
Stop and feel what I want I gotta
Stop and see what I'm on about
Stop and feel what I want with you
Ah

America Three Roses Comments
". . . the time passed away with us, and also our lives passed away like as it were unto us a dream . . ."
My latest philosophy some may already know, " no matter what your age, the past went fast" KRM 2019 So thrilled America came through my ears to my brain because some are not lucky enough to be able to hear and some don't have brains.☹
Infectious riff^^
it's quite incredible that no one has commented on this being and what three how many years 3? Dementia has set in the corporate dudes like XM? Do they listen to good music?
I believe influenced by The Beatles Beach boys and?
Ahhhh, such great guitar playing....nothing like it...and the harmonies..so tight! Can’t you just see the fire crackling and blazing?
Tick-tocking da bongos back there....

♥️A♥️M♥️E♥️R♥️I ♥️C♥️A♥️
FUCKIN AWESOME!!
LIfe was unkind for me in the 1970's but this music made it better.
The lyrics goes like this: Walking through a Wonderland, I've got two by the hand.
Every move we take, if that we have plan'd.
There are Bongo drums in the background.
Murderous bass being played on this song. Beautiful.
Dan added a sparkling guitar strum that made this song special!
Great song.
Just a fantastic song.
when people and music were nicer
Great Song!🎵😎60s 70s 80s and early 90s music is cool. I enjoy all kinds of music .🎼🎶Real Instruments Real Voices Real Music 🎹🎤🥁🎸👍✌🇺🇸
Still love their acoustics and harmony. Another musical era gone by but still appreciated.
My absolute favorite acoustic song of all time! No one combines guitar chords and vocals like this anymore. I'm so grateful I came of age during this incredible musical era.
Next to "Horse" this was ALWAYS my favorite
Good choice, I put " I Need You" and Dan Peek's "Here" in the conversation! Spring switchover from Indica to Sativa may prove I am inconsistent in my faves.
Best music ever made! YEAH.
la mejor canción acústica y creo una de las mejores de la historia de la música, pocas canciones tienen la capacidad de generar tantas emociones positivas como esta, el sonido de las guitarras, el bajo perfecto, música que perdura.....
I AM SUCH A BIG FAN OF AMERICA
It's their Best and a stand-alone effort from one of the greatest acoustic bands ever. Harmony personified.🎼🎶
Always truly Their The very best
A Classic!!
One of my favorite songs of all times! Pure coffeehouse fare which where this song was first played.
Great song ! Great band !. Love the guitar playing sounds smooth.

Bunnell and Beckley, beautiful music. Bunnell, Beckley A N D Danny Peek, magic. Irreplaceable magic.
Drew on Acoustic (Al and Mark)
America tops the 70's music nice after the beatles of the 60's
Man they were sooo good!! They're acoustics, the harmonizing. I really need to get together with some other musicians and do some great ol' music like this. No fun doing it alone. Well, it could be funner!!
In 1972 I went to Mexico for the summer to visit my relatives and this LP came with me.
This is an outstanding Album
Rich in acoustic and harmony.
Lifts my spirit every time. After decades of pleasure. Long Live America!!!!!
Hoooo, man. I love this song.
AMERICA!!!! Lo m'aximo desde siempre!!!!!!!!!
Been listening to these guys since I was about 15 (57 now) loved the songs then and still love them now. They just make you feel good. Bring back those memories of long lost teenagers dreams and aspirations lost in the mists of time. Fantastic.
Violoens academicos fazando de tudo.
that key change & guitar solo in the fade out.
completely changes the mood ,but boy is it sweet.
genius.sheer genius.
My 1st. Concert 1973 Air Force Days in K.C. still the best, the best!
Bose noise cancellers and this song... Nothing better!!!

My dear Lord, this song is from out-of-this-world!!! AMAZING, AWESOME!!!! Thanks America for this album every song a master piece, but Three Roses is the best!!! ;) Cheers!!!
immensamente bella loro BRAVISSIMI
Excellent right hand technique.
Finally found this song!!! Beautiful. Just had part of the lyrics. Love America. Thank you for the download.
This album won them a Grammy for best artist of the year.
ROGER RAGLAND WAS HERE. 8 1 17. 8. OO PM.
IT IS THEY VERY BEST, believe me.
+pghsquid--AGREED WHOLEHEARTEDLY!!!!
Mrs Neil -- This is one of my absolute favorite songs by America. What talent!
Rock group, America, has at least 20 songs in the year 1972 alone. Other years that America that produced songs on the radio are 1974, 1975, 1976, 1982, and 1983.
My favorite song is A Horse With No Name from America, because they won the best new artist, the best rock group, and the best song for the Grammy Award in the year 1972.
I forgot Don't Cross The Water by America in April 1973, and than took an 18 month break, and their next song Tin Man reached at number 5 in the fall of 1974, by America of course.
Their best song, in my opinion. "Riverside" a close second.
I must agree, I love "Riverside" equally. Is this great music, or what?
Although the 70's was not my favorite decade, musically, this band and The Eagles stand out in my musical memory....Their wonderful harmonies and acoustic guitar accompaniment was so refreshing. No auto-tune here, just raw talent!
i came back from Vietnam, and this music was so soothing
Thank you for your service! Welcome home!!
@pghsquid I echo that, if I could.
Thank you for your service sir.
Listening to a lot of acoustic, harmony-drenched stuff again! Reliving student days, only in my head of course! Summer '72 and I'd had this for 6 months, refusing to be drawn into Bowie or Roxy. Played the album and this song, particularly, to death. GREAT bass playing by the late Dan Peek.
Soo good! Glad Im not the only one on here from the 70's.. with this music it was such magical days!⚘❤♫!
The background supporting music is unbelievable. The base and the bongo's...oh the bongo's!!!!!!...just an overlooked amazing song.
Yeah.. its all so good!⚘❤♫
Great album to get High too
It was perhaps only their best album but it was "the One"...the whole album is a "project" from the begining to the end. I like this kind of album when the songs are connected between each other by a thread. This is was the case with the album Foxtrot of Genesis, also Dark side of the moon by the Pink floyd.
After this album America made several good songs but little by little it became to "nice", too soft and too flat.
I was definitely the best just like Dark Side of the Moon was.. wow, pure magic those albums!⚘❤♫
After 40 years, I never tire of this song and "Tinman".
And me.... been a fan since 1971
"jade the album" What does that mean?
buy the album.
Was reading Angie Martinez's memoir and read where Pharrell introduced her to this song and just had to check it out...glad I did...dope
Its just way to low for me to sing the verses.
+stephen dwyer Lol.. for sure!
If you wanted to cover it with a guitar use a capo to raise the pitch to fit your voice.
Oh man.. how can I forget about this song?! This whole album made me start playing guitar decades ago. They made me want to play guitar so bad. Throughout the decades my friends had no idea what I was playing for theyve never heard the song before. My biggest thrill was playing with the whole album wether they liked it or not lol.
+stephen dwyer Thats very cool!!⚘❤♫
+stephen dwyer Wow.. all in the family! That is so cool. You got some great stories lol.
Amazing
My all time favorite America song. I learned each chord and note intimately.
Perfect for a Grand Canyon fireside chat!
The triangle comes in right before the first chorus.....
This is just a great song--so soothing to listen to, so hopeful in affectation. Bliss!
Jade this album since it came out
Ted , thats it .........never forget
classic, never forgotten...
Three guys playing infectious guitar rhythms and singing top notch harmonies. Yeah.
Oh my gosh.. I know right! Flippin amazing!⚘❤♫
R.I.P Dan Peek!!!
Dan the Man, he was a big part of America's early sound
they always had great bass playing in their songs
Dan Peek played Bass!
nice bongo work, sweet harmonies,
look me up at playa del coco costa rica. at coconuts bar in 8 weeks on tuesday nite. i will wail this tune for you.
That's legendary English percussionist Ray Cooper, best known for his longtime work with Elton John.
Do housewives listen to this song when they bake with "Five Roses" flour?
+Ronald Charles Epstein, I hope that they do.
Ultimate Coffee House song when one thinks about it. Right down to the acoustic guitar!
And everybody just might sing along, Charles M, nothing wrong with that = ]
What a great, great, great song!!!! One of my favorite songs (possibly my favorite) of all times. I imagine some great looking woman reading some classic book with a big Newfoundland at her feet overlooking some beautiful mountain scenery. Hopefully that will be a reality for me (?).
Great song..!!
I guess that's Bunnell on the lead, or... what great memories of the '70's! :)
74bshs yup.
Dewey is the awesome strummer..Gerry was the lead guitarist on this song..Dan was the second guitar kind of picking
My wife and I got aligned to this song. :-)
On our tenth, I had a 3 roses stain glass made. It was awesome.
Thanks America!
+nord98 I also carved her a roses piece...just because...
+nord98 That's too cool! I should have done something like that on our 30th just this year, 2015. Hey, it's never too late...
+nord98 real nice
Were you out of alignment? Or is that a way of saying you married?
"Three Roses"
Sitting by the fireside with a book in your hand
Two lazy dogs sittin' watchin' your man
Three roses were bought with you in mind
Three roses were bought with you in mind
I gotta stop and see what I'm on about
Stop and feel what I want I gotta
Stop and see what I'm on about
Stop and feel what I want with you
Ah
Walking through a wonderland, I got you by the hand
Every move we made, just as if it were planned
Three roses were bought with you in mind
Three roses were bought with you in mind
I gotta stop and see what I'm on about
Stop and feel what I want I gotta
Stop and see what I'm on about
Stop and feel what I want with you
