America - Amber Cascades Lyrics
Amber cascades all over today
Then we walk on a crooked catwalk
Only to be delayed
Bubbles of blue burst into two
Eaten up by the incoming tide
Then we call to the man who walks on the water
We talk of a plan to stop all the slaughter in view
It's in view
Granite charades are played in the rain
Till we fall through a sand castle window
To avoid the pain
Summer canoe paddles up to you
'Cause it's time for another beer run
Then we call to the man who walks on the water
We talk of a plan to stop all the slaughter in view
Then we call to the man who walks on the water
We talk of a plan to stop all the slaughter in view
It's in view

America Amber Cascades Comments
I love This I'm walking on Beautiful cloud's so beautiful. Thanks Beautiful America.
Amazing orchestral arrangement from George Martin.
America
"Amber Cascades"
1976.
I've always loved the harmony in this one! :-)
this is one of those classic examples where the deep cuts are just as good as the popular cuts.. to me America was like Steely Dan Steve Miller Band and the Doobie Brothers.. once you get past the big hits the rest of the deeper cuts stand high and tall just as good which makes them great start to finish albums once you really get into it.
this one from 76 tends to fly under the radar unless you happen to not have the history greatest hits album but that blue one came out about 20 years ago or so the complete greatest Hits unless you have all the h albums.
personally I've always liked the sky. I think it stands up well and it still does I also believed antique lay down some great lead guitar on this one too I can't be a hundred percent sure if it was a studio guy or not but Dan was a good lead guitar player towards the ladder years before he split from the band
J adore
Inolvidable la música de América de esta canción me acuerdo de mi esposa ámber cascadas América los mejores del planeta
Crisp, clean, bright guitar, wonderful vocals, bassline is exquisite! Sounds like a wine snob describing a drink! But this is better!
I love America have a facebook page Ventura Highway history of America
entered Cashbox Sept 11, 1976... only got as high as #75
This song carries the trademarks of a Dewey Bunnell composition - two major seventh chords creating the atmosphere. Quite like Ventura Highway, Tin Man and Riverside. But this one beats 'em all.
Probably my favourite band of all time. This is a sensational song - rates just ahead of Tin Man, Ventura Highway, Three Roses and Riverside- I didn't realise until I Ied a Huntingtower Tour to our sister school in Pasadena in 2008 that Riverside was actually the name of a place. Look forward to Americas next tour of Australia.
I was station in Germany in the mid 70's & was taking a stroll in the Black Florest & this song came on the radio. This song made me feel like I was in another world were peace & happening was all there was.
Whenever a DJ cares to play this fantastic band, we either get Horse with no name or Sister Golden Hair. Strange how most program-makers lack creativity, and don't try to make people discover the lesser known treasures of this top notch band, like this one. Now, only 660 found this gem, only 3 of them the like it button. Contrasting with the millions prefering "scandalous" Wrecking Ball-rubbish staged by clever managers with the $ sign in their eyes and mouth.
Beautiful song!!
