Ambrosia - Heart To Heart Lyrics

I really liked Ambrosia's first two album, which featured sophisticated art rock. Then came a new label (Warner Bros) and, with Life Beyone LA, a new direction: bland out yacht rock. BUT there was one corker on Life Beyond LA, a song as good as the best of the first two albums. And it's this song, Heart to Heart. A really fine song, and the violin solo that leads to the end is fantastic.

100% enjoyable music, regardless the mood one is, not many bands can deliver like Ambrosia did.

One of the best songs on this lp, next to "Ready For Camarillo". A very haunting and sad love song, one of my all-time favorites. The vocal talent here is just pure.

Everywhere I go." - Well, darlings - "Heart To Heart" has got to be one of the most sad and emotionally moving love songs ever, featuring stunning vocals from David Pack & Joe Puerta of Ambrosia, who were at their absolute peak of perfection in 1978.

Joe Puerta sings lead vocals for first two verses, and chorus, then David Pack sings lead starting with "Only my love", back to Joe and Dave harmonizing in first part of last verse at the end. Was in a high school band with both Joe and Dave (The Sentrys, S. LA county, Torrance area), and Joe always had the richer voice, but in Ambrosia, Dave insisted on singing the songs and parts he wrote, and since he was the most prolific songwriter of the group, that is why he is featured singing lead vocals on most their songs. Their voices always did blend well together, but Joe was the undisputed lead singer, with the stronger voice, in the Sentrys. Things change....but Joe wrote and sang an absolute gem here, my favorite Ambrosia song!

I think Joe is doing the lead vocal. David sings the 'only my love' part. Nice to hear them sing lead vocals jointly. This album is the only one where Joe totally dominates in lead vocals. I wonder if there was a reason for this.
