I am a HUGE Alterbridge/Myles Kennedy fan! I found my first complete listen to this new album (early this morning), from start to finish, was really strange!!~

EVERY SINGLE FUCKING SONG FROM AB, JUST FUCKING AWESOME.
Im usually the heavy/speed metal type of guy but fml the lyrics and melodies to these songs are sick - especially in the song "slip to the void". From this album, would have to say that my favorite song would have to be "Show Me A Leader"

Recently heard a preview on amazon and it was really good. Alter Bridge you are awesome as always, there are magnificent songs on this album and the lyrics and the riffs - all of this stuff is great, so i'm ordered album and can't wait to hear it. But what i feel about preview in general is... well, to be honest i expected more from you. I mean quality of the product is great, and AB was high caliber professionals since the beginning in 2004 and you definetely can recognize the band's style, but it really not differs much from what you've done before. I dare to say this is not really sounds like you doing something new or different at all, so it's kind of like you are repeating yourself, and not always it works out. Still i really into your music and i find it inspirational, cause it helps me to keep going about my life, with a sense that it is all has a purpose. Sending you my love AB and hope you will make a lot more in the future for your fans, yourself and me personally. Keep it up, men.

Alter Bridge are not just about making heavy music... They make music. Stop batching about it not being heavy enough, listen to death metal if that's all you want.

Good solid song. Unlike most of the back seat music critics here who can't play a kazoo, let alone write lyrics and construct a song to go with them, I'm never going to bag on a band as good as these guys are. Like any artist(s) they create music for themselves. That's why they got into music, as a way of expressing their feelings about themselves, life and for this album; the lack of real leadership we have in this country. Myles Kennedy was recently interviewed and he basically said that his head and heart were just teeming with ideas that had to get out and they just happened to be the center theme of this particular album. As a fan, I admire anything they come up with because I couldn't duplicate their worst song. I don't have that God given talent. That's why I don't shoot my mouth off about how this song or that song sucks, or this album or that album sucks and all the other bullshit a person can come up with, yet these wanna-be critics still live with their mom and dad and work at Jack in the Box - yet are experts about music performed by a group of super talented musicians who are in the Big Leagues because they deserve to be there - because they CREATE.

Anything uplifting is considered generic its so stupid. They have the most unique sound ever, just because its not death metal and is just hard rock doesn't mean its generic.

took me about 3 months to get thru fortress. just wasn't diggin it for some reason and would choose blackbird or ab3 over fortress every time and hadn't even listened to every track all the way thru. kept skipping thru it unhappy and very disappointed. then one day i just let it play and it finally clicked. now it's (fortress) my default playlist. well im feeling exactly the same with this... cause right now I'm not diggin it. funny how with blackbird,one day remains and ab3 i was immediately stoked and loved every bit of them from the very start but not so much with fortress and now this. must be gettng old and grumpy. plus it sounds an awful lot like the Slash/Kennedy stuff if you ask me. ask me again in a few months. rock on ab.

Ok guys Im sick of seeing people bash this album over 3 released songs on a 13 song Album. Cry me a river(no pun intended) No its not Fortress, NO its not Blackbird. Be glad that they are notproducing the same stuff every 3 years. This is obviously a chnage form the heavy dark AB. Im sure mark got all the super heavy stuff out with Tremonti so if thats what you want go listen to that. Meanwhile Ill be listening a fantastic new AB record. In my opinion this album has a lot of driving chorus and melody focus while still staying hard which is why I liked AB in the first place.

lol I have the full album and it's dark and heavy as hell! The Other Side is probably the heaviest song AB has ever produced.

Dissapointing album. Blackbird and AB III is their best album so far, IMO.

I love AB to the death and it pisses me off that so called "fans" act like AB's music has never evolved. Bro, the guitar riff at the very beginning is one EXACTLY THE SAME as Addicted to Pain. I get where people are coming from saying this sounds like Slash but come on, it's A fucking B. Everything they do, they do it to perfection. Just saying my thoughts.
