Almost, The - Fear Inside Our Bones Lyrics

Why do we worry?
Why do we doubt?
Why do we wonder when our stories don't play out?

Why are we hoping?
This too shall pass?
Why are we waiting? For out train come at last

This is my best and my worst guess
We will make with pain inside of us
With a chose to feel just enough
Or grit our teeth and and take the whole thing down

We were made with fear inside our bones
The kind that makes you feel alone
So hold on just breathe and figure out
We are not alone
This makes us feel alive

Why do we wonder? Far into lies
Why do we feel our hope won't arise
This is my best and my worst guess

We were made with pain inside of us
With the choice to feel just enough
Or grit our teeth and take the whole thing down

We were made with fear inside our bones
The kind that make you feel alone
So hold on just breathe and figure out

We're not alone, this makes us feel alive
Don't look to me for hope
I'm lost, I'm just like you
Don't look to me for freedom
There is a real way out
There is a real way out

We were made with pain inside of us
With the choice to feel just enough
Or grit our teeth and take the whole thing down

We were made with fear inside our bones
The kind that make you feel alone
So hold on just breathe and figure out

We were made with pain inside of us
With the choice to feel just enough
Or grit our teeth and take the whole thing down

We were made with fear inside our bones
The kind that make you feel alone
So hold on just breathe and figure out

We are not alone, this makes us feel alive
We are not alone, this makes us feel alive
We are not alone, this makes us feel alive
We are not alone, this makes us feel

I guess that Aaron will focus on Underoath now again :)

  2. Jess C

I had never heard of The Almost before today and I must say I am impressed.

  3. Zuriel Montes

  5. Zackary Aqqad

    Much better than I'm down.

  6. ShallowDepression

People below chatting about religion, there must be a You Tube page free of it somewhere.

  7. luv2cheer65

There are plenty of different religions and many religious texts to go along with them; there's no denying that. If you've read and compared, say, the Torah, Koran, and the Bible, you would see that these three religions have many of their basic principles and morals in common. I don't mean to be nitpicky about this, but isn't it quite possible to spend time "actually doing good and giving back " to the community while also sharing/expressing God's love? Many don't do either, but plenty do both.

  8. Sanford Crittenden

You're looking at it wrong, Christianity is not the only religion and the Bible is not the only book. If there actually were a god, I bet he'd rather you folks spend your time actually doing good and giving back to your community than evangelizing "his" "word".

  9. luv2cheer65

Yes, religion has taken part in causing a lot of brutal deaths and wars. I think everyone can agree with you on that. :) However, if history is really examined, all of those battles involved some type of ideas or religious practices that dishonored/disobeyed the Word of God. Terrorism is not biblical and therefore cannot please God in any way. Instead of looking at Christianity as a religion, try looking at it as a way of life. All God wants us to do is to share His love with everyone :)

  10. Jeff Martin

    Best Christian band ever :)

  11. S. Israel

Your somewhat right, this is why Christians are suppose too and many do live in a Kingdom of God sense. Not in a religious stance. Jesus rebuked the religious hypocrites and so did john the baptist. As for people causing death is somewhat partially true as well. Sciptures states that For we do not really fight with flesh and bones, we fight rulers, principalities and darkness (evil). Many are so enfluenced by hate jealously and has no love or truth in them so of course they want to kill others.

  12. Revolutions

Thank you, The Almost! I needed this.
    God bless y'all! :)

  13. Sanford Crittenden

Yes people, people influenced by organized religion and its leaders. Its embarrassing honestly. I don't blame god, I blame the people for rejecting the concept of independent thought.

  14. Sanford Crittenden

Religion has caused more deaths in history than anything else. The brutality of religion is well-documented and is apparent in all aspects of man’s existence. Even terrorism is often justified by its perpetrators “in the name of God”, or one of many variations. Whether one believes in that god or just uses the idea of that deity as a means to an end, there is no denying the billions of deaths that have been caused, either directly or indirectly, by religion.

  15. Harrison Koonts

in the beginning, why are the lyrics only on the right side of the earphone

  16. sadf

I agree that religion is messed up look at all of the worlds major religions there is so much war and evil....BUT a personal relationship with Jesus is not religion its different. Once you feel the Joy of Jesus love and you see how he changes lives you wont go back.

  17. Jasonax DIA

    I just love this song.

  18. Sanford Crittenden

Because religion is just a giant scam invented by men to answer questions we don't have the answers to. Words written in books by men and sold to the masses... its a business. Religion is the cause for more pain, more suffering and more death than anything in history.. save tyrannical government. If there is a god, he gave you the power of free thought, create your own set of morals and values, try thinking for yourself..you might be surprised by what comes out.

  19. sadf

if u dont mind me asking y did reject Christianity?

  20. dopamine

  26. Emily Kelly

This was so much cooler when it was live... just saying... go to one of their concerts...

  27. scum1

You so called Christians make me sick with all your hate. You are no better than Muslim extremist who kill people. This is a great song and cd. What happened to forgiveness and caring? I'll see you in hell because you are going there with your narrow hate filled life

  28. Jordan Schneider

Guys, Aaron is not a traitor. Just because he is Christian, doesn't mean every song he writes has to be based around a central idea of Christianity

  29. Bryan MG

    ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡This makes us feel alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  30. Cassie Stewart

    *whole thing

  31. johndeere8345rt

I didn't like Ghost. Now this sounds like The Almost. Great stuff!

  32. dlesage27

How is this not Christian? The idea that there is something missing in this world is one of the biggest underlying themes of Christianity. If there wasn't something missing, if there wasn't something wrong, then why would we need Christ? Check out Romans 8, especially verses 18-25.

  33. jay mile

The beginning of this song sounds like Ray Lamontagne's "Be here now" in parts.

  34. Yoel Jonathan

    because?

  35. Yoel Jonathan

That and how what we feel is actually what makes us who we are.

  36. Yoel Jonathan

I totally agree. If anything, the language in the song points straight to his faith. In my opinion, Aaron's singing about imperfection and how there's something that completes us. I mean that bridge where he sings "There is a real way out" must be there for a reason right? lol

  37. Gabrielle Mitchell

Why are some of you calling Aaron a "traitor" and insisting he's "way off track"? Clearly this song does not paint faith in a bad light. It's an amazingly emotional track, which is what I would expect from The Almost.

  38. Randy Nichols

    Cillendor, what makes this off-track?

  39. שת בנ־אברהם

I can't figure out the meaning of this song. Like, Aaron's a Christian, isn't he? This song is way off-track, however good it may be musically.

  40. Stephen Kuipers

Duh, its in stereo. Its to make it more dynamic.

  41. What I've Been Playing Lately

I want all of this in my mouth :3

  42. Maurício Ramalho

    This is so amazing <3

  43. Angelo David

    AWESOME!!!

  44. Left Brain

This song sucks if you listen to it with only your left earphone.

  45. Wellinthon Mundim

    Soooo Gooood!

  46. Peter Collier

    Yes yes yes!!!!!!!!!

  47. Kroppinator

Sooo good! This is the almost I know and love.

  48. Lidia Ferreira

    AWESOME

  49. Jalisa Waddell

Gotta love The almost. They are so talented and there's so much truth in their songs
