Greg, man....the mystique and talent is still right there. I wish he had taken better care of himself. So many squandered years. So many great songs not written. Guess that's just how that road had to be driven. So great this concert caught lightning in a bottle one more time. Dickey shoulda been there,too.

Yeah I saw the Allman Brothers in 1975 Phoenix Arizona feline Fields when they're on tour were there eat a peach album Robin Trower Ten Years After The Allman Brothers one hell of a concert didn't get to meet him but I sure enjoyed their music. My favorite song by the Allman Brothers is Midnight Rider one of the best and tied to the whipping post Berry Oakley Duane Allman and Greg rest in peace one of the best bands in the United States along with Lynyrd Skynyrd band God bless their souls 2

Great guy, got a real charge outta brief conversation with him in NJ many years ago, who opened for him outside at the NJ State Park horse race Track? The Jets, LOL, the Jets! anyone remember them? The Greg Allman band blew everyone away, shoot Greg even broke up a fight from behind his organ. Blessings my brother! A good friend of mine resides up the country road from you a stretch in Ga. I'm happy for ya, stay well, be well, peace. This video/audio performance is cherry!

Dickey's slide was so important to this song. Love all versions but when that slide is going, it raises to another level.

He learned it first... Duane stole Gregg's guitar, and Gregg switched to organ (mostly). Good stuff, indeed.

Gregg went back to play guitar occasionally after Duane's passing and they brought in Chuck Leavell to play piano. For a while in the 70s he played a Veleno aluminum guitar

What a great performance of one of my favorite Gregg songs. The man has really gotten his crap together. Just saw him in Bethlehem Pa a couple weeks ago and he is better than he ever was and the band is just freakin right on point. We have lost so many keystone musicians starting with Levon Helm over the last few years. Gregg is a survivor and he should be cherished for as long as we have him.

Gregg will go down in history as the best.

I saw Gregg with the Allman Brothers back in Dayton, Ohio in the late 70's.  I think the ticket cost me 8 or 10 bucks.  Always a great show.  I hope to see him in 2016.

Looks like Sherrod has finally stepped up and come out of the shadows.  This is a seriously excellent version of this  tune all around, huge sax.  You young ones (Derek/Warren) want to move on, that wont stop us one bit.

Aint nobody cooler than Gregg Allman. That's just a fact Jack. I always love the way The ABB played this song but I'm always looking for the rare versions with Jack Pearson on guitar and they're hard to find. Well thank god for Scott Sharrard because he plays the solo a lot like JP usually would. It's such a cool, laid back way of playing it even when he's getting after it and it fits right in with how Gregg is playing the tunes now. The timing of it really grooves. Can't wait for Macon in 2016.
