Allegaeon - Tartessos: The Hidden Xenocryst Lyrics
In this bay on Sandbar Mantels
A city built in concentric circles
Advancements Spawned
And by others sought
Our Metallurgy is Second to Naught
On throne and stone a beacon of light
To separate from the myths
Just delve into the hieroglyphs
To set forth the crowning of Atlantis
The birthplace of Civilization
Cast to the depths the kingdom fell
they faced annihilation
Our legacy is a xenocryst
From Atlantic to the Aegean
From the Greek to Egyptian
From the End of (The) World descend
Swallowed at Gibraltar's straits
Tsunami waters open floodgates
To separate from the myths
Just delve into the Hieroglyphs
To set forth the crowning of Atlantis
The birthplace of Civilization
Cast to the depths the kingdom fell
They faced annihilation
Our legacy is a Xenocryst
Under the surface
Awaits Antiquity
With the Capacity
Of an Epiphany
Beneath the Surface
Arcane secrets lie
Rewrite our histories
The key to ancient times
Ancient Intelligence brought forth Development
Washed Away by Torrential Waves
Submerged Continent they Fled for New Settlement
Those left behind were sent to their graves
The Birthplace of Civilization
Cast to the depths the kingdom fell
They faced Annihilation
Our legacy is a xenocryst

Allegaeon Tartessos: The Hidden Xenocryst Comments
If you are interested in what's the song about, It's about one civilization that existed before christ in Spain, the Tartessos, they were conquered by the romans and their culture is still a huge mistery.
This is pure Art. Looking good forward to welcome their next album. I thought it will come out the 23rd of september😎
La madre tocan mucho jaja
14 idiot
Sorry to say but Mike Stancel is way better than Glisan.
TABs please? :)
you guys are just stupid! I freaking love this band
I wonder how many listeners know this is talking about my birthplace, the south of Spain.
Yo lo he captado nada más leer el título
This is so good my neighbors and their neighbors are listening to it.
+Wynand Marais My entire apartment building is now listening to them as well
@Yospie Cardoso we would be great neighbours, you and I.
+Wynand Marais yeah we would
+Wynand Marais If anyone is a fan of Greg Burgess founding guitarist of Allegaeon, I'm trying to raise money for him to be able to purchase an Axe-FX II and ditch that POD HD and expand his creative possibilities. It's the least we can do to thank an artist in an industry that has not given him his due. gofundme.com/mnpx3xr8 Please share and spread the word!
Everyone is listning hahaa
I love this song! It is just amazing.
why are they playing this on 8 string guitars?
this song only uses seven, so i was just curious
Just because it has 8 strings, doesn't mean you have to use them all at all times.
I play 8 strings exclusively, for everything. Doesn't matter the song or tuning, it's played on an 8 string.
The extra strings are simply an extension. They are not required. Utilize them as they are needed, and don't if they are not.
@Cody Woody obviously lol so why not just make the video with seven strings lmao
@Justin Greiff Because they played the song on 8 string guitars
@Justin Greiff Because they wanted to play them on 8...
what IS the guitar of ryan in this vídeo, Schecter or jackson? which model?
+Vicente Marti Schecter Avenger
+Fu yeah, found IT, its an exclusive model made by schecter for drumcityguitarland in the usa, Im trying to buy IT and ship IT to spain
This is so cool to look at! :D
レベル高すぎ!
pretty good actully
the faceless ripped off those sweeps.
+M Lee emancipate? I know what you're talking about but its no where near the same as what he is playing. It just has pretty much the same tempo
+M Lee time signature
+M Lee Michael Keene has said several times that The Faceless are influenced by Extol and I'm with Justin , this doesnt sound like any Faceless song , maybe there are using Mm7 Arpeggios like the Faceless but it doesnt sound like any Faceless song , there are being used in other key.
@Alberto Razo
Must be a bunch of people from the USA here that I am talking to because MOST OF YOU ARE FUCKING AIRHEADS. Right this particular segment of this particular song sounds like the the sweep segment from Emancipate by the faceless NOT JUST IN GENERAL but sounds almost the same. I never said about all the sweeps being the same ever or that the faceless dont have any music at all and ripped off their whole career from one bit, I am saying THIS PARTICULAR PART is probably really influential TO ONE PARTICULAR SONG BY THE FACELESS, NOT ALL OF THEIR FUCKING DISCOGRAPHY.
@M Lee I'm from Canada...so yeah. Can I still be an airhead? Sorry. Thanks. Eh.
Probably 100 of those view are mine.... KEEP UP THE AWESOME METAL, BURN THE POSING METAL!!!!
I wouldn't say any one "posing metal" band are posers, per se. It's just a different style of metal that you don't seem to like, and that's fine.
@William Adams never heard about "Posing Metal" that's a subgenre?
@Řehoř Kullervo people refer to some metal subgenres such as nu-metal, glam metal/hair metal, metalcore and deathcore (especially the last two) as "poser metal" for no discernible reason.
@x1StapleGun Nu Metal may be considered multigenre fusion, Metalcore and Deathcore may be considered HC subgenres or genre fusions therefore not Metal subgenres… this is considered Posing Metal? Makes not much sense in my opinion, Metalcore is not Metal is easily acceptable to me but this is strange
@Řehoř Kullervo I think it's the idea that metal elitists think that metalcore/nu-metal/deathcore/hair metal bands can churn out slightly more "accessible" metal which rides on the back of br00tal death metal, and that said bands can instantly get famous. In the 2000s, there was an explosion of "MySpace metalcore" bands
love the technical guitar duets. damn!
9 people are deaf. how depressing.
just found this band, it's really rad! great job to the musicians \m/
dems sweeps
He sounds 100% like Angela from Arch Enemy.
Hahahaha fucking yes.
It's such a shame Ryan left, the new guy is obviously very good but Greg and Ryan seem to be a bit tighter. I'm sure that will come with time with the new lineup.
@ShredDead sounds like a mixing issue. not vocal style
their solos got so much better and more melodic with Michael though
This is fucking nuts! I want to be this good but I may have to sell my soul.
Oh is that all Ill even gift wrap it!
8 string ?? WTF
Dem sweeps got me weak in the knees
Dem sweeps got me weak in the knees
Reminds me a bit of Dethklok. An awesome band though I'm glad I found this now.
una bestia
2:29
One of the best riffs I ever heard...!
The beginning reminded me of a cooler death metal version of Born of Osiris.
that's right :D
so true
These guys are alright! They shred face! The riffs are a little stock in my opinion, but they make me like this straight forward 4/4 metal again! Vocalist is the best part by far. Dudes sick! So much black metal in his screams.
Would u mind making a new demonstration with that new dude?:D
Awesome band I just wish metal players would stop using chorus oscillations :(
8 String Guitars Sweet!!
So damn good!
amazing
Sounds a lot like The Faceless but still very pleasant !
What was the scale length on the necks ov these guitars, guys?
JUST FUCKIN' WOW....I'm speechless.
great band love it...\m/\m/
they don't even use the 8th string in this song ;)
do they use the 8th string?
Bonus is that OVERKILL shirt is in this video :D
\m/ excellent metal!
Or you can go and see them live, Like I did Tuesday night, it was fucking amazing!
Be'lakor is actually a really good Aussie band.
Doooooooood, It totally sounds like it!
At 1:30, it's look like STAR WARS.
Yeah, if Rings of Saturn can hit their stuff live, it wouldn't surprise me that these guys do too.
Ne Obliviscaris?
I'm in one of the bands opening for them with them July 28th 2013 at the Miramar Theater in Milwaukee Wisconsin!! So fucking pumped!!
when was the last time you heard a riff in australian "local talent"? i think mine was 2009
actually theres a gold coast band called shifting the paradigm, their lead guitarist could cut back on the jeff loomis CD's but overall a decent effort. could do with a better singer though.
How this could be better ? Perfect song ! HUGE EAR-ECTION !
lol you'll lose all hope in humanity if you visit australia and you go see some local bands, it's all djent/hardcore whatever with breakdowns and random "ambient" melodies. Some bands down here are ok, but it gets boring very quickly. Completely agree with what you said. just because a guitar gives you access to a low register, doesn't mean you should use it to death.
I was so happy when the guitarist of this band wished me a happy birthday on Facebook haha, they are such great guys tbh, also Greg (the main lead guitarist) is also in a part of an orchestra, spanish guitarist, which is probably why he's so fluent
inspiring
They're awesome, but idk about best. You have to consider Dave Davidson, James Malone, Paul Ryan etc.
That being said, the lack of chugging might have something to do with them not using the F string in this song
Amazing dude
Some chugging is nice when used sparsely but well, but I hate bands that rely solely on chugging for songs.
Becker/Friedman
Best pairing since Mustaine/Friedman 20 years ago.
one thing is for sure: they're one of the best 8string metal guitarists out there
playing a low heavily distorted palm-muted chord
(check Axe Of Creation's Djent Style Chug Rhythms)
when Tim Lambesis formed Pyrithion, he asked the producer for the best guitarists to play with him. the producer named Ryan as one of the two.
3:22 on the upper side of the screen you can see Greg pulling his hand up, however, on the zoom-in you can see he doesn't do that. They recorded two separated videos???
what is 'chug'
I know, they have the best riffs. Found these guys when they released their EP and they've been inspiring every since. I wish I could play this damn good. Practising my ass off though!
You are completely correct on this. I seen them back in December, and they missed 2 notes the entire show, and I was specifically looking to see how closely they could play it. It was the single most amazing display of guitar work I have ever seen. Its not a large stretch to say this is the single best metal band on the planet, with the two best metal guitarists to date.
The theory helps out a lot, but you can do without it.
yes you can.
Yeah... you can't play that fast with shoes on. It's just not do-able. ;)
*dude on the right*
*song ends*
..shit, I have to piss.
fuck shoes
No, go learn music theory.
How to properly use an 8 string.
What i love about Greg and Ryan.. the harmony man! they share and piece things together perfectly in time! so fucking great!
RYAN IS BAREFOOT HAHAHHAHA!!!
I showed this to my World Civ Prof and ended up presenting this video in class! Such a good song, I love their writing!
尊敬しますは
I saw the thumnail, WHAT, THEY HAVE 4 GUITARISTS??
You dont know what a wireless is?
It's a demonstration. They're just lining this up with a recording to show everyone how they did it.
No guitars were even plugged in hahaha
i <3 greg burgess
One of my favorite things about them, is they have 8 string guitars, but they don't chug, not even during breakdowns, we need more bands like this with actual talent!
But the closest they're coming to my town is Detroit, and that's like four states over.
This video is a gift to Allegaeon's fans, so they can watch the fingering and how the notes are played, because ya - these guys are that cool. If any of you think they have the guitars unplugged because they can only pull this kind of playing off in the studio, you couldn't be more wrong. I have seen this band play live at least ten times, and I can assure you that when they perform, they hit every note dead on, exactly how it sounds on the CD. Go see them when they come to your town.
Bum bududedadedu dududedadedu du BENEATH THE SURFACE Bum bududedadedu dududedadedu du AWAITS ANTIQUITY..... That is correct
dat sweep lick >
XENNOO XENNOOCHRIISTT.. wait wrong band
never seen such goodlike guitars before^^
This song is godly.
Literally.
Incredible. just in-fucking-credible.
2:30 is one of the most headbang-worthy moments in any metal song i've ever heard.
Absolutely the most metal thing, band, song i have ever heard.
They are wireless! XD
