Is this melodic deathmetal?

Sort of. It doesn't really matter how music is categorized as long as it's good imo, but I'd call this melodic tech death. Their stuff is definitely more technical and contains more intricate/varied rhythms than your run of the mill death metal or melodeath band, which is why I threw the "tech" in my categorization, but it's also very melodic, almost orchestral. So, there you go.

Nice to see that Scar Symmetry shirt \m/ Listened to this band for the first time today, it's been a while since I have been so impressed with a band on the first listen, so I'll definitely keep to it!

Only complaint I have is that the sound is important, but also is appearance.  And the drummer just looks dead to me, he puts no energy into his drumming, or at least looks that way, he just does the right amount so it sounds good, but nothing to make it look fun.

Plus, just to resolve your quarrels with me.  My musical talents are in vocals as in growls, screams, gutturals, pig squeals, etc.  Where is it on youtube?  I do not have a band cause unfortunately I live in an area where rap is dominant and everyone doesn't want to expand their musical tastes.  Now if I could do what people do and play the instruments myself then lay over my vocals, I most definitely would.  But I'm still learning instruments, I don't have the money for a recording studio, and I'm only 18.  Also!  I didn't say it twas a bad band or song, just a lazy instrumentalist isn't fun in live concerts.  Maybe he's more lively in concerts but not in this video.
