I recently ran into this song and it almost made me cry in class because my life is hard and this made me a little more happy

Found this song again at a time I really needed it. Lately things have been so overwhelming with my mind I just don’t feel the same anymore. I use to be such a bright light who would light up the darkest of rooms.. but now it’s like that light has dimmed and became dark. No one sees it cuz I’m still smiling through everything. At the gym there is a lady who calls me “ smiles “ cuz she always sees me smile. But little does anyone know what is behind all the smiles. It’s not to cover up anything.. it’s because I want to still see life so beautiful. Even through all this depression I still try to see that light. I still try to bring out that old shine I had before. I pray I come back to me soon.

Why aren't they popular around the world? In my country not alot of people know this band.not even any of their song are played on the radio

I discovered this song on the same day that I found out that a very dear friend, of mine, had been arrested for drug possession. Unfortunately, she's still in jail. I write letters to her to catch her up on what I've been doing with my life (by the time that I found out that she was in jail, I hadn't heard from her in months). I just pray, to God, that my friend gets out, soon.

I first heard this song after meeting my daughter for the first time in 13 years, unknown to her I had attempted suicide many times in those lonely years and I still have dark days and we text the lyrics of this song to each other when things are tough

i thought i was 2 years clean and then i realised cigarettes and alcohol were methods of self harm and then i’ve realised that when people like hit you or push you and you purposely don’t tell them to stop it is in a way too so i guess i’m back to the start but i’ll keep pushing through, this song has helped me through so much already i hope it continues to be this good every time i listen to it.

This song brings back memories from when I was in high school my best friend show me all time low and I’m happy she did

An old friend and I played this for English class as a project. It was based around feelings and them meanings behind them. Most people played country songs or rap songs. We played this because it's empowering, deep, and raw. Not a lot of people knew the seriousness or cause of mental illness and it was deemed as "strange" and for my friend and I to put ourselves out there and play it in front of other students, it was awkward. The teacher kind of shrugged it off, not a lot of people clapped. It was kind of shitty. We were expecting people to have sort of reaction. But got nothing but witty, half-assed smirks

Doooooood I love this and I fucking cant listen without crying. 2 years ago today my brother died from a drug overdose and he was in fucking live with this song, he was 21 had a daughter and a fiance. This song breaks me so fucking much, but nevertheless is a beautiful song that my brother loved to death. Now his daughter is 3 and doesnt really remember her daddy very much. His fiance is still mourning (as her and my brother were together since the age of 12) and tries not to cry, but that's hella hard to do when only 2 years ago her fiance died.

it's been 8 months since i first heard this song, and i'm not going to lie. these past 8 months have been hard. i remember listening to this song before everything went to shit, and just knowing that hey this fucking song is going to help me eventually. and it did. even as recent as earlier this week.
i was feeling like shit because of group chat drama, and my parents arguing a lot recently, my dad being shitty and thinking one of my best friends hated me. but that night as i went to sleep, i pressed shuffle on my playlist and this song was the first song to come on. my mood lifted up right away, as i listened to every single word. i'm so insanely grateful for all time low, even if i've only been a solid fan of them for 8 months. i love them to death, and i can't wait to see them live, and i can't wait for new music. thank you Alex, Jack, Zach and Rian. This song means so much to me. My older sister cut when I was in elementary school and it took a huge toll on me. I was her therapist basically, because she felt she couldn’t talk to our parents at the time. At the time I thought it was my fault that she cut because I could’ve been there for her. Every time she was upset I would be so scared she would hurt herself again. At about late middle school/early high school I also started cutting and it was a really low point in my life. When I discovered this song I sent it to my sister (She had gotten a therapist and was doing so much better) Recently she told me that this song had helped her keep going and it helped me too :”) I’m 2 1/2 months clean and my sister has been clean for about a year. I’m starting therapy in a few weeks and I’m genuinely doing so much better (happy late pride month btw)

It kinda sounds like I’m blaming my self harm on her and that’s not at all what I meant!! I love my sister and it’s not at all her fault. Just my me and my sister both struggling makes this so much more meaningful to me

This song has helped me so much. When I was in 5th grade all the way to now (11th) I was going through a lot of things. And I mean A LOT. But in 7th grade My bestfriend sent me this song and ever since then this has been one of my favorite songs. (This and kids in the dark)

How am I, just now, hearing this song? I can't stop listening to it!

1 year clean. My habit was scratching my skin whenever the stress was too much to handle. I would scratch until my skin bled or peeled and then feel so guilty because I had promised my friends that I would stop. It still gets hard sometimes and the urge to scratch gets so strong that I'm scared I'll give in amd fall back into that old depression, but then I realize that I've graduated high school. I'm about to start college. I'm pursuing an awesome career. I have friends and family who I know I can depend on when it gets dark. I just wanna say that I promise it gets better. Even if it's too dark with no way out, even if the urges come back stronger and stronger, it gets better I promise. It will be a fight and a rollercoaster and it will be harder some days than others, but it gets better.
