@***** just saying what they said. I do have some of their albums and I'm not a Christian. With them and other bands who have their own beliefs, if the lyrics are open to interpretation and you find a connection with it and apply it to our own personal lives somehow that's a good thing.

I just can't get into it. I'm not one of those that's saying they aren't metal enough anymore, because they are. All That Remains are truly talented musicians. To me it's just boring. I bought the album because I have all of ATR's records, So I picked it up from the store, got in my car and instantly put it on. After a few songs in I felt myself wanting to put a different record on. Not because I thought it was bad, because it has some awesome riffs and other parts, but It didn't grab my attention, and if it did, it didn't keep it long. It's awesome to see a band not give in to people who call them shit and create what they want to create. Its a solid album, and like this song shows, there is plenty of heaviness left from ATR, I just can't get into it. Maybe if I listen to it more it'll grow on me, but right now I just can't get into it.

uh, mom jokes. I thought they ceased to exist, but apparently stupid people still do them. Il try to be much clever and clear as possible: both clear vocals and screams/growls are good. Clean vocals are more appropriate on a certain type of song (an entire song or just a piece), and the same reasoning goes for growls and screams. You cannot substitute the growls in This Darkened Heart with Clean Vocals, while you cannot replace the Clean Vocals in Not Alone (or just every other song from the fall of ideals with clean vocals) with screams. And also, if you criticise clean vocals because "they are too soft" you are in the same shit pile of those who say growls suck because "they're too heavy and satanic". Just stop bitching about cleans and growls, they are both good. ATR changed style, deal with it.

I put the "/" between screams and growls to say they are different. The fact is that you cannot criticise a METALCORE band for too much clean vocals, it's one of the main things of this metal genre. I don't believe you would criticise an Heavy Metal band like Metallica because they don't do growls or screams, it would have no sense since those vocals are not part of the heavy metal. Metalcore is one of the most "clean" genres of metal, actually. If you listen to the album "This Darkened Heart", they RARELY use clean vocals, and guess what, ATR was still considered a Melodic Death Metal band when they released that album. They began to be Metalcore when they released The fall of ideals.


You felt betrayed because they changed their style A LOT, but trust me, it's a good thing. They are a metal band since 15 years, they changed their music tastes, they cannot make a song they don't actually like. Even your music tastes will change, sooner or later, everyone does as time goes by.

No Knock was good. This Probably Won't End Well was the best. Tru-klvt-Metal was okay. Pernicious and This Probably Won't End well are the stand outs so far. And I'm a fan of The Fall Of Ideals

Yeah, I have a pretty varied taste in ATR.
AWYCW may be my least favorite album, but I still give it an 85/100, a solid B. My top 5 favorite songs in the ATR discography are:

For We Are Many and Overcome first introduced me to metalcore and have a very special place in my heart, and The Order of Things to me had the perfect combination of screaming and clean vocals. This song is a great example. And I think we can all agree that AWYCW wasn't really ATR's best effort. It wasn't a bad record in the slightest but the instrumentals and vocals weren't up to the quality of the other records in my opinion. But all of this is subjective so it really doesn't matter what i say to change another person's opinion.

Its definitely ine of my favorites... But i can never decide. I have many favorite all that remains albums simply because its all that remains. I dont know what it is about them, but im hooked for good. Probably my favorite band at that. Their sound, style, and what they write about is like the story of my life!

@Guitarplayer1469 All a matter of opinion man. I think Hail to the King is a masterpiece. I really appreciate what A7X does for metal in this day and age. This Means War is probably my least favorite of HTTK.
