This song encompasses a lot of emotion while still being metal and having quality instrumentation. The solos (namely at 1:48) are so sad. A metal song can still be emotional without screaming, and in this form the music is much more melodic anyway. ATR puts a lot into their content, moreso with nothing else but guitar, bass, drums, and lyrics sung from the heart.

The girl who meant everything to me broke up with me recently... this song became my anthem pretty much I couldn’t stop crying because I promised her everything and she was my first relationship that meant so much... she left me and got with another guy about an hour later and I was crushed... when anyone goes through that shit know it’s tough really tough but don’t dwell move on and make yourself a better person and find yourself a better person because someone is out there wondering if they’ll find the one else too and you’re just one step closer to finding the perfect partner. Things do get better rock on my people 🤘🏻

Since everyone is talking about how ATR has changed in their playing styles, I thought I'd break the cycle.

I think it's awesome that Jason Costa plays with a traditional stick hold. Not only is it different, it is way more challenging to play faster tempos and to bounce with. Doing so teaches you to play with you wrist, not your elbows.

I love the guitars in this song. I was listening to this at work with ear buds and you pick up so many more subtleties as apposed to listening on an open speaker. For some reason, the drums stand out a little bit more--almost as if they were EQ'd or balanced correctly but I love it. Gives it a much more organic and realistic feel.

Lol everyone complaining because of change. If trivium kept up that screaming crap I would've never been a fan of their's, change is great with bands most of the time especially in an era when no one is ever happy with their 5 second attention span

I love these guys. people need to take in consideration the duration this band has been around. for them to keep up with new bands and maintaining a fan base, they have to switch shit up. it's their lively hood and competition is a bitch. age wise, they're still too young to retire from music and make a living doing something they do not enjoy, like fucking welding or a shit desk job. I'd rather follow mainstream protocols and enjoy playing music, making $$, rather then fucking myself twiddling my thumbs for a corporate bore-fest. wouldn't you agree? so, that being said, I'm sure your hyper critical opinion has no effect on the outcome of their music career. keep hating ads clowns. just jealous. ;)

Solid ATR.  It's who they've become.  If it's not heavy enough for you, then go listen to something heavier.  That's what I do and it works perfectly fine, trust me.

i still like them but its not so much the style shift, which is probably an attempt to grab so mainstream dollars, but the quality dropped off a bit...still good band tho

Meh... Meh... I dunno, someone sent me this song, asked me for an opinion, of course I had to be polite and gave it an 8/10, but honestly? The lyrics seem dull, meaningless, and horribly overused. I don't like the song, it's not good in my opinion. I don't mind rock or whatever this is, but this song just does not catch my eye(s) at all. But it's really the lyrics, I seriously hate these lyrics, they are everywhere, and they are completely meaningless. Apparently some people like to listen to trash about ex-girlfriends or whatever.

I grew up in the 80s and this music is pretty decent... especially compared to the grunge stuff of the 90s..  my son is 18 and he listened to this in my car and I got hooked.. pretty funny to be driving down the highway singing along with him... and knowing all the words... not ashamed..

I think every band needs to have at least 1 album that's different than how they usually sound. While they're old stuff will always be the best it's nice to see something different than the same old thing over and over

I love all of their music, who cares if they want to write from the heart sometime not all metal is about ripping off someones face all though it's fun but they can make some music that matters to them in the softer side of things!

Alright I don't understand why there are so many people bagging on this band. Take time to understand what they have to do as musicians they have to change and continually keep up with the times. If maintaining successful albums is "selling out" then im sure you all can be just as creative and get instant mainstream success. The music industry in not easy it takes hard work and they showed that through every album they just want to attract a wider fan base. like the people who "cant stand screamo" and all that blah blah jazz. If anything they are showing more talent and I mean ALOT more talent than the pop stars and dubstep/ electronica

What I like about them is that they stay true to themselves but also apply elements of rock into their albums to keep a more consistent audience, they're capable of such a diverse tone it definitely shows they're talent as musicians. Also to an extent I agree with what you said about electronic music but that's more so a matter of which style you like there's still some sense of talent present to keep a wide appeal but because it's usually done by one or two people so that's something to keep in mind (I'm a fan of electronic music that's why I say that)

You're quite negative. I love all of their music. It is all quite good. Every album and every song. The inability to appreciate good music is rather closed-minded and is fine on its own but there's no need for you to be insulting their music as a result of your closed minded nature. Just click away, go find other bands that suit your addiction to a single sound. Perhaps after you realize that all good bands you go and find don't just make good music, but make good music that changes with time and experience, you may come to understand what music actually is and grow out of your currently bratty behavior.
