I use to see this verse believing that being free was that I was free of the charge of my sins. And I am thanks to the sacrifice of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. But I now learned that it also means I am free of bondage to the sins that at one point were only leading me to death. They no longer have power over me. I can choose to do the right thing. That's true freedom.

I considers these songs modern hymns. They are better Amen! If someone say Christianity was better and stronger in the past or it has become too contemporary in love share Eccl 7:10 "Say not, “Why were the former days better than these?” For it is not from wisdom that you ask this."

I love this song so much, I heard it for the first time at the last retreat I was counseling at and it's now one of my most favorite songs to sing during worship, it brings me a I tears just thinking about the words in this song. How we are truly set free with Christ!

This song has become the anthem of my youth group.....the few simple words in the chorus are so powerful. It's like we are declaring his freedom over our lives, over our schools, and families.

when our worship team sings this, I feel as if I'm in the presence of our Holy Spirit. The whole church seems to be in tears. The words are so empowering! This, the original is in a different key, so I can't seem to sing it very well. Yet, the version we sing must be in the 'perfect key' for me, because I feel as if I just BELT It out, singing it to Our Lord, God in Heaven. It's not about being a church person, it's about realizing you have broken God's Law, and you are a sinner, you don't deserve anything, you don't deserve God's forgiveness, but He is merciful and loving, and made a way for us to be free, just like this song says, He is giving each person on this earth practically unlimited chances to repent and turn to Him before it is too late and they pass on and will have to give an account. Repent and turn to Jesus Christ for forgiveness!
