All-American Rejects, The - Drown Next To Me Lyrics
Down down down into a cloud of shame
You love me like a car wreck, wrapped around a tree
Down down down, it’s the only way to go
Sometimes it's hard to hold on, without letting go
We can leave the ones who love us
You’re all I ever need
Just sand in the water
Drown next to me
Now, now, now, cause the curtain has to close
We take a bow and face the crowd, realize we’re all in the show
Now just now you can rest your weary eyes
It’s only over once you leave before it makes you feel dead alive
We can leave the ones who love us
You’re all I ever need
We’ll tell each other lies
That I know we’ll both believe
Just sand in the water
Drown next to me
I’m never letting go
Caught in the undertow
Take your run up and sow
Dive down 'cause I just wanna try to last both out
I walk in the water 'cause I can hardly breathe
We can leave the ones who love us
You’re all I ever need
We’ll tell each other lies
That I know we’ll both believe
Just sand in the water
Just sand in the water
Just stand in the water
Drown next to me

All-American Rejects, The Drown Next To Me Comments
Can’t believe I somehow missed this when I was going through every AAR song for the first time, this one might be my new favorite.
I will love the AAR for ever and ever and after
Just me that dont find this song sad at all? I can think of a lot deeper songs such as exchange by bryson tiller
The amount of emotion packed into one song...
This song reminds me of the soul transcending into death. It's pretty somber and beautiful.
I really hope AAR produces again.
I miss them, honestly my favorite band till this day. I want them to release atleast one final album
The only album by them i liked was move along. so i want another album like that
Matthew Ojeda there has to be... there has been more movement than usual recently but I'm holding on with that hope.
I just wanted to update to say that kids in the street is my new favorite album. I love it so much
Matthew Ojeda You're in luck then.
it makes me relax..
such an amazing song but so underrated
I hear Tyson saying "Don't be sad." At the very end but then again who knows. xD
So i am not sure, but that last part, around 6:30 when hes talking, it sounds like he's saying "your all I need" and then "I'm all you'll ever need" or something along those lines. Not really sure lol :)
Dive... Down... CAUSE THIS WORLD IS DRYIN' US BOTH OUT!
Holy shit!!!
Most underrated song of all time.
This song is definitely underrated. Absolutely brilliant. xx
makes me cry every time, I hear it.
This song makes me cry every time.
This should have been just track #12. I wish they'd added this to Kids in the Street.
Or "You better have loved me"?
It sounds like Tyson is saying "Rest those weary eyes" or "Drown Next Me"
yeah I heared the same thing and I always wondered what the voice says, but it's so hard to understand, a least for me since English is not my mother tounge... Wish someone could tell me what it says...
So.. moving... :' )
This song reminds me of that scene from Lost when Jin and Sun literally drown next to each other.
Wondering what people think about the last part of the song- anybody know what that is or anything? I mean I never really thought about it much until now, but after listening to it a few times... it fills me with this surreal creepiness. Then at 6:03 there's a bit that sounds like someones voice or something. And then there's something heavy introduced in the song, almost as if to mask it.
beautifully written! the melody, the lyrics and his voice are just perfect.. this is what art sounds like.
I'll definitely drown next to this master piece
<3 ARR
One of my favourite songs ever...completely underrated. Ah well...it can be our little secret :)
I LOVE this song, makes me cry every time I hear it. LOVE the whole album.
Who needs drugs when you have this song?
so who else is completely baked off their ass?
me too! It happens with every song! (almost) AAR's music is really the only thing that can make tears fall down my face in 4 and a half years... I need them to continue making music.
Should have been on the album in place of Out the Door
beautiful lyrics.
This song was better than most of the album itself why did it not get on the standard edition?
This is the best song on the whole album, probably the best song The All-American Rejects have ever made... how can this just be a bonus track on the deluxe version? How is this *not* a primary track on the standard version of the album?!
this song is amazing. it gives me mixed emotions. the car wreck scares me bc my brother almost died in one.... and the ending where you just hear tyson crying out in the backround at the end just gives me the creeps but its also is sorta pretty and the whole drowning theme just is amazng. and scary. i love it
2 people drowned in the water by Justin Bieber.
I thought it was just STAND in the water??? It makes more sense too....
Great album with fantastic songs!! I really wish I could go to their concert :(
Ooo awesome towards the end it sounds kinda like their original sound. =D A nice mix.
Beautiful. I hope they make another album.
yohohoho......
Hearing this for the first time left me speechless. Beautiful way to close the album.
♥♥♥ everything about this album!! ♥♥♥
*We can leave the ones who love us
*Caught in the undertow
*Dive down cuz this world is drying us both out
Just a few corrections. I love this song so much
Their songs just keep getting better and better
3:28 is sooo good. gave me goosebumps.
Another great song that you can only have if you get the Deluxe Version. Thanks for posting. I wish I saw this sooner.
