Alison Krauss - Jewels Lyrics

When he cometh when he cometh to take up his jewels
All his jewels precious jewels his loved and his own
Like the stars of the morning his bright crown adorning
They will shine in their beauty bright jems for his crown.

He will gather he will gather the jems for his kingdom
All the pure ones all the bright ones his loved and his own.
Like the stars of the morning his bright crown adorning
They will shine in their beauty bright jems for his crown.

Little children little children oh love their redeemer
All the jewels precious jewels his loved and his own
Like the stars of the morning his bright crown adorning
They will shine in their beauty bright jems for his crown.

Like the stars of the morning his bright crown adorning
They will shine in their beauty bright jems for his crown...

1 When He cometh, when He cometh,
    To make up His jewels,
    All His jewels, precious jewels,
    His loved and His own.

    Refrain:
Like the stars of the morning,
    His bright crown adorning,
They shall shine in their beauty,
    Bright gems for His crown.

2 He will gather, He will gather
    The gems for His kingdom,
All the pure ones, all the bright ones,
    His loved and His own.

    [Refrain]

    3 Little children, little children,
    Who love their Redeemer,
    Are the jewels, precious jewels,
    His loved and His own.

    [Refrain]

    We are made pure
    in His blood.
    We are declared righteous
    by His blood.
    Thank God.
And then You work in us
both to will and to do
    of Your good pleasure.
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
    Philippians 2:13 KJV

What a beautiful song!!!  This is what it's all about!!!

Yes that is how He sees us.
    "What woman,
    having 10 pieces of silver,
    if she loses one piece,
    doth not light a candle,
    and sweep the house,
and seek diligently to find it?
And when she hath found it,
    she calleth her friends
    and her neighbors together,
    saying , 'Rejoice with me;
for I have found the piece which was lost.'
    Likewise, I say to you,
'there is joy in the presense of the angels of God
over one sinner who repents.' (Luke 15:8-10)

"The kingdom of God is like
    a merchant seeking beautiful pearls,
who when he has found one pearl of great price,
went and sold all that he had and bought it." (Matthew 13:45-46)

This reminds me of the time
    I lost the tiny diamond
    in my engagement ring
    in my bathroom.
It was most prescious to me,
because my loving husband had given it to me.
I searched most diligently for it.
It seemed like it took forever,
but I looked for it until I found it.
Then I shared the good news with my husband,
    my best friend forever,
and the love of my life.

We are just like that one lost piece of silver to God.
We are just klike the pearl of great price to God.
We are just like that tiny lost lost diamond
in my engagement ring to God.
He had great joy when we were found.

This I dedicate to the many souls who lost their lives in the SCOAN building collapse. May the Lord give them rest from their labors and plead their case.

  8. B.... C....

Sounds like angels in heaven. I have a couple of little jewel grandkids.

LOVE THIS SONG.THE WORDS ARE SO BEAUTIFUL

  10. J.... M....

Beautiful singing as always from Alison Krauss. To answer a previous comment, Jewels is the tune name. When He Cometh is the name of the hymn

  11. L.... ....

Precious...Allison is an angel here on earth (and really funny in person) it's just that one line "all the pure ones, all the bright ones" - implies that God's love is conditional. But that's the song.

  16. G.... ....

Written in 1856, most likely by someone who gave up a child to heaven early.
Anybody else notice they don't write hymns like this anymore?

  17. R.... ....

She has the voice of an angel...

  18. N.... H....
