Alien Ant Farm - Homage Lyrics
Ten somersets will undertake on solid ground
The Beatles were my thing Supertramp Jackson Browne
Maybe I threw on The Police or ELO to take me home
And every time I listened to The Pixies with you
Purple rain falls on the dark side of the moon
They helped me through
With rhythm and blues, my country too
They watched me grow
With rock and roll, with heart and soul
And they were singing my life with every line
Pulling my strings every time
Even through my torment we share this moment
Through the ups and the downs, the lows and the highs
Even though I don't know you, I feel like I owe you
Phil Collins on the record player spinning round
It's In The Air Tonight, I feel good James Brown
And maybe Queen will headline like a Smooth Criminal
Sade all day, McKnight all night
Kiss is here to party, Beasties fight for your right
The Stones will keep us rolling with The Eagles we can fly
They helped me through
With rhythm and blues, my country too
They watched me grow
With rock and roll, with heart and soul
And they were singing my life with every line
Pulling my strings every time
Even through my torment we share this moment
Through the ups and the downs, the lows and the highs
We'll never forget, you opened our eyes
Even though I don't know you, I feel like I owe you
I got Joni Mitchell when I need a soul sister
And I got Keith Richards when I'm low
I got Stevie Wonder with you underneath my covers
And I got Otis Redding for the love
And they were singing my life with every line
Pulling my strings every time
Even through my torment we share this moment
Through the ups and the downs, the lows and the highs
We'll never forget, you opened our eyes
Even though I don't know you, I feel like I owe you
Even though I don't know you, I feel like I owe you
I feel like I owe you, yeah
I got Stevie Wonder with you underneath my covers
And I got Otis Redding for the love

Alien Ant Farm Homage Comments
This may be my favorite song of theirs since Movies.
Come to Australia !! Whole country tour
God damn I still love this song so much
I wish more people feel this song.
please keep going aaf
Dirty bombs is the best song on this album.
I only listened to this song to see how he pronounced "homage". I liked a few of this band's early songs, but boy they went commercial in a bad way.
What early songs. Lets see if you have any clue about "commercial"
What. The. Fuck. Terrible. Give me anthology II. No wonder Tye left, don't blame him. I would too. This is literally exactly like nickelback, but with a better vocalist. Yet that doesn't save it. You became what you used to rail against guys. Cool base licks and half dissonant guitars are what made you all that money. I'm sorry I took the time to find this.
Oh and great vocals. Sorry man, how could I forget that. Seriously, one of the best vocalists. I hated on it, but will give credit where due.
Nickelback? What the fuck have you been smoking? I'd compare it to a generic song from Fall Out Boy or The Killers. Hell, there's even a bit of MCR in there. But Nickelback? Not sure where you're getting that from!
Dirty Bomb, however, is a great song on this album.
Doesn't sound like The Killers, sounds like Journey - Don't Stop Believing. Damn Kids :p
They're really doing the commercial thing huh? It really is about sales if you want music to be your full time career that pays your bills and taxes.
you think this is a commercial thing? 70k views in two years...
+Anon Iman 70k years in two years means shit PR
@TeaPips Because they don't care about commercial thing...
Find a band "Send the Sages", it's a second band from AAF lead singer Dryden, their songs are amazing and sitting around on YT with 3k views for years. AAF will never go commercial, and that is one of the reasons why they are so great.
EDIT: it's not shit PR, it's the complete absence of PR, and they don't care...
Hope this is one of those Truant deals where the first half is poppy than the second half is heavy weirdness... different bass player = different sound with these guys though
+Chris Carville I think Tye tracked and wrote on this album before he parted.
And since I wrote this comment, I have learned a lot of scary things about the industry that AAF try to sing to us about, your comment is a weird confirmation to some of my suspicions. I write this hoping you understand what happens when/why a Bassist leaves a group like this when they're key to the chemistry or an honest player like Tye.
Tye tracked all the bass, everything was written and recorded prior to Timmy joining as the new bassist
One of the few rocks bands that can actually write a hook. So much talent. Rocky enough to get to my tough side. Majestic enough to cover the artistic side. Absolutely brilliant.
+Kolby Winn i totally agree i feel like we have similar music taste could u give me any other tips for more great bands :D
+Kolby Winn you should try Daughtry, Rise Against or Stone Sour, or literally any 80 hard rock band, i know Motley Crue and Sixx A.M. along with bands like Tesla and W.A.S.P have incredible hooks in their choruses but also have so much balls to the wall rock mixed in.
bad dong the first three you named off I just cant, I've heard all three and strongly dislike them. Idk why. I loved slipknot 04'- back and I dont mind the 80's stuff its pretty good.
Thanks as always to WBER a .edu in Rochester, NY, playing alternative music since 1985
Never shed a tear from a song in a long time. :')
this is awesome, if only people would wake up and be like in the early 2000's. Punk rock would be the #1 music genre in the world again, and awesome bands like AAF would get the recognition they deserve again.
It's ironic that my favorite band of all time would write a song like this, it's how I feel about them.
+Ronin Raichu well put i totally agree
This song is beautiful, I cannot think of a better song to describe my love of music, Thank you.
This song, absolutely wonderful!
Glad I stumbled across this - awesome, wonderful song.
<3
Is this a new singer? or is it the same? because he sounds a little different.
Same guy.
I love this song. Alien Ant Farm for life!
Wow, it sounds like a combo of Coldplay and The Killers.
I like it.
Good song but alternative/modern rock radio just doesn't play this music anymore. What a shame.
I agree that it's a change in style, but it sounds great in my opinion. they just grew up. awesome work as usual
Pretty solid. I'll be getting the new album for sure.
Ie pretty much liked everything AAF have done and this is top track. Love it and purchased on ITunes. Cheers
That Southampton FC picture, I work at the stadium LOL
Sounds really poppy..i hope the whole album doesn't have this sound..i do like the lyrics though.
A truly top song. Good work.
HELL YES THEY'RE BACK
What the fuck is this. Complete change of style I am not digging it.
AAF Rocks it..... As usual.
how fucking awesome is this
can't wait for the album to come out. This song is amazing
Reminds me of The Killers' Mr. Brightside
I was about to say the same. It sounds a bit like The Killers, but I love the song, anyway.
I don't hear it. It sounds nothing like it to me, but I can't make judgments for others.
So you know everything had/has mixed...:)
That's exactly what I thought...definitely a killers vibe :)
@Joe Dirt the main thing in the song is warm and honest lyrics imho
LOVE IT!!! See you in Spokane!!!!!
My most favorite band in the whole entire world ever. I absolutely cannot wait for this albumn to drop and I pray you guys come back to KC soon. Love the new diggs. Homage (me bowing)
From my hometown
Songs like this make you guys more than a band... something else! I have thoroughly enjoyed your music for the last 13 years. Keep it coming!
I fucking miss you guys!
Well, hot damn. First time I heard this song it made me get a little misty eyed.
A salute to all of the legendary musicians throughout the decades. The ones who assuaged our pain, inspired us, or just plain made us want to sing along and/or dance crazy. The ones whose voices and instruments continue to echo into the future, continually reminding us what music truly is about.
And we will keep listening. Always.
This album is going to be super awesome! Great song!
Love love love this song. So excited for some new Alien Ant Farm.
...take on solid ground
The Beatles were my thing so put on Jackson Browne
Maybe I threw on The Police or ELO to take me home
And every time I listened to The Pixies with you
Purple rain falls on the dark side of the moon
Maybe I'll take this journey through Europa with you too
They helped me through
With rhythm and blues, my country too
They watched me grow
With rock and roll, with heart and soul
And they were singing my life with every line
Pulling my strings every time
Even through my torment we share this moment
Through the ups and the downs, the lows and the highs
We'll never forget, you opened our eyes
Even though I don't know you, I feel like I owe you
Phil Collins on the record player spinning round
It's In The Air Tonight, I feel good James Browne
And maybe Queen will headline like a Slow Criminal
Drop day all day, good night all night
Kiss is here to party,... fight for your right
The Stones will keep us rolling with The Eagles we can fly
They helped me through
With rhythm and blues, my country too
They watched me grow
With rock and roll, with heart and soul
And they were singing my life with every line
Pulling my strings every time
Even through my torment we share this moment
Through the ups and the downs, the lows and the highs
We'll never forget, you opened our eyes
Even though I don't know you, I feel like I owe you
I got Joni Mitchell when I need a soul sister
And I got Keith Richards when I know
I got Stevie Wonder with you underneath my covers
And I got Otis Reading for the love
And they were singing my life with every line
Pulling my strings every time
Even through my torment we share this moment
Through the ups and the downs, the lows and the highs
We'll never forget, you opened our eyes
Even though I don't know you, I feel like I owe you
Even though I don't know you, I feel like I owe you
I feel like I owe you, yeah
I got Stevie Wonder with you underneath my covers
And I got Otis Reading for the love
Beasties fight for your right.
Other than that I didn't pick up on much else haha.
Sade all day, good night all night
"zooropa with u2" to be correct
Yes!!! I love me some Alien Ant Farm freaking awesome song!!!
@Ken Hidaka One can dream.
@Ken Hidaka He makes a comment about liking a new alien ant farm song and you randomly bring Kat Dennings into it, then assure him that he can picture her hosting SNL... The dots don't connect.
Alien ant farm a band who finally releases new music and with previous music videos over millions of views, now only can get about 4000 views with releasing a new song.....and it's been up for a week now.... WORST PR EVER
@***** that's because the mainstream is full of shitty prefabricated music that has no musical value or memorable things at all, pure shit.
@***** this song actually covers the major part of the market. Problem is - zero marketing.
damn it, its just like the newest american head charge material, soft and a sad attempt at current trends. so disapointed
+Machinedead nah man. it's just nobody gives a fuck about rock and/or roll. we're in the era of EDM. rock is dead.
98,000 now.... one day it can be at million.... until then, just relax and enjoy AAF. Hope you're good.
I love this song
New album? Please, somebody tell me, i dont idea. I'm from Argentina! hahaha
Yeah from what i heard its coming out next month its called Always and Forever
Hell yeah, buddy! It's titled "Always And Forever" and you can pre-order it here: www.pledgemusic.com/projects/alienantfarm :D
for YEARS now I've been checking online for new AAF. Every few months I check back & the record is being worked on, done, mixing, delayed, etc etc and FINALLY it's here! And not disappointed with Homage, they're back!
Awesome song :) FYI, These guys don't need to rip off anyone's lyrics...seriously!
Wow, they've come a long way. It didn't even sound like AAF for a moment there. I like it though.
This song sounds like a rip off of Daughtry's long live rock & roll.
This song hits me deep in the feels! Awesome! I can't wait for the new album!
I don't like it. Oh well.
This song is so good!
Not so good as Let Em Know *_*
bien *.*
They gotta try much harder ! !
Sounds just like ((Sunrise Avenue - Hollywood Hills (Official Video) ))
speechless . .
Oh please tell me more about your career as an accomplished music critic...
@CM Scratch
hahahaha love you for that
really? I just listened to that song: its kinda awful
One more thing i cant tell if your trolling or genuinely musically inept Homage sounds no where near close to Hollywood hills
Amazing song! Share this. Request this.
and the verses too .. love the references
what a chorus
Yes!! first to like!!!
