This was always my favorite song of theirs, but I always wondered... their best song, with their worst singer.... why?? people may come up with excuses, but they are fooling themselves, the best parts here even are when staley sings. I remember when I was little and my dad would play Alice In Chains on repeat and then we would get to Heaven Beside You and I would get so confused cause it didn't sound like Layne at all and then years later when I was like maybe 10 I figured it out LOL. What a beautiful fucking song. nothings better than just blasting it full volume and letting it consume you.

This is definitely the best unplugged that MTV ever released. And every track from this performance (in my opinion) is better that their respective album versions. Jerry just knows how to write music man. And he put this set list together perfectly. His vocals with Layne backing him (on most tracks) is the perfect combination.

AIC is amazing, and this is probably their most recognizable work. The Seattle grunge scene gave us some of the best music. Nirvana also had a unique sound, just like AIC. There's no point in comparing artists, since their success lies in different areas, and both have a large following -- so they are doing something right.
Just appreciate all that.

Make no mistake Nirvana's NY unplugged is one of the best live albums of all time..

I sit here (Seattle) thinking about all of the greats that came from these parts....from Jimi to Layne (2 of my favorite people in he whole world).   Of all of the great bands Alice In Chains is prolly my fave.

I love the first chord struck in this song, opens the song up perfectly.

The last era where amazing music like this was in no short supply. I hope these guys were appreciated properly because my god they were/are extremely talented.
