I grew up in the 80s..Sabbath maiden priest wasp mtallica metal church etc first discovered Alice at clash of titans tour...slayer megadeth anthrax public enemy 1990 Madison square garden nyc...it was a rap everyone in the audience didn't want them to leave the stage..at that point all they had was their first album facelift...which sounds more metal than grunge...makes sense considering who they were touring with..anywho I turned to friends I was with and said this band is going to put out some great music...

Even with the lisp Layne was and is A.I.C the name was originally his it was Alice N Chains now with William Duvall its a watered down excuse for old men to live out their youth one last time sorry but Alice in Chains died when Layne ascended to heaven.

My husband and I were talking about our first CDs and this was mine and this song was the first Alice in Chains song I ever heard. I believe I was 11 in 5th grade. So of course I had to play this for him!!

I got it! Not just for those truly getting born again. For all who change who they really are to conform to what others believe is the correct moral path. Not following what was your true self and what made you fulfilled as much as possible because doubts of from how others behave. "I knew her when" and know now what is the truth. "Hope you can wish away the lies", but I'm not sure that's possible. It is what it is, and was what it was. I am very happy and at peace to own my own thoughts and actions, and stand by what makes me happy. I have no need to share my inner thoughts with anyone so they can judge and cast doubt. Those thoughts are for and always will remain with the one I share those times with.

Boney Boi very true. I noticed his voice never really changed much over the years. It was only 10 years or so, but most singer’s voices change as they age and the wear and tear of touring take their toll. I have a feeling that if he had lived and taken good care of himself, he’d still have a lot of his range even to this day. Listen to Vince Neil, Axl Rose, Bruce Dickinson, and even Eddie Veder and compare their early singing to their later vocals. They changed due to age and wear and tear. They either sing at a higher pitch or lost some of that punch.
