she was part of the duo crystal castles for about 10 years. the other half of the group, claudio, abused and raped alice throughout their time working together. she left him and crystal castles in 2014 and has since been working on her solo career. i suggest you search on google "alice glass cc story". she published a statement a few years ago on her website saying everything that happened.

I think Alice was the soul of CC. Ethan maybe a good producer but without alice's raw, edgy voice, and personality, CC is just boring.

Alice isn't even featured on CC's best material. The reason CC isn't as good is because Ethan is simply past his prime IMO. The only debate that could be had is that if CC w/ Edith was better live than CC w/ Alice, which IMO Edith was a far better performer.

@Danny i disagree. Alice was equally part of the band as ethan. And she contributed to built the aesthetic and image of the band at the beginning. Edith is a good performer ok, but she just copy the style of Alice to fit the band (it's easier when you the band is already famous and all) and I think the old song doesn't fit Edith . Char is her best work at vocals. But it doesn't beat celestica or baptism or empathy which are more Alice's. These are cc's best material
