I think one of the best albums ever released is ALICE COOPER S GREATEST HITS when I was I kid first cd I bought and went to bed with it I my ears on my disc man and I thank my dad for showing me Vincent . thanks
💞🎈😬💞💖💖💖
Sadly this great, great album slightly marred by this cover of a song by a nonce. Don't get me wrong I used to really like Rolf and saw several of his gigs. Bizarrely I work near Southwark Crown Court and saw Rolf in court the day they convicted him. Bit like the awkward moment in the excellent Joker movie when the Gary Glitter tune starts playing.
I do like this but am sad to say that the kiddie-fiddler's version (Rolf's) was better. :-(
I have bought my daughter every album i have come across. Including the ajax panty one. I went to hs concert, she didnt get to go, she was four!

This song is another classic from Alice! Love it! Been listening from the beginning.
First time I heard this was 1971 in Vietnam. So.
Paul Gruendler Welcome home!

Sunariiiiise Woahhhoohoh
OMG, I remember this, I forgot all about this song till I just heard it. Had the album when I was 16, in 1971. Blasted it in my room ! LOL !
crank it louder
Riding in Kruse's car, he being the first with a license, junior year of H.S., carful of us, getting high, back-seat head-resting on the shelf of the Caddy, eyes closed, just diggin' this album... No wonder my grades went to hell senior year.
J Leo i played this record to death.
Try to find an album like this today! Hahahah!!!
sooooo coool!
asf cover hahahaha happy sappy joie
who the hell is wolf harris someone below likes his version better must not be into rock and roll or new alice coopoer
Wolf Harris - yeah, I like it. Great name for a band! Rolf Harris wrote and recorded the original version of "Sun Arise" in 1960, inspired by traditional Australian aboriginal chanting. Producer George Martin used eight double basses to mimic the sound of the didgeridoo and claves for clapsticks. It's a little strange that the song appealed to Alice Cooper. It aint rock 'n' roll but it is interesting:

I Feel Alice Cooper Isn't Appreciated As Much As He Should Be...
Alice Cooper was a group. Vince is over appreciated. ;)
I've always felt that they never got enough credit for simply being a killer band.
Agree! Finally in the RRHOF but really coulda been there in '80 lol
Both the ACG and solo Alice are great in their own right.
miss the didge in this
Moldy oldy, ha-ha!
go too another site alice is still cool
so funny i forgot to laugh
wallass !
Just think about Vincent's life journey. He goes from this great catchy as hell song on to performance art mastery on countless albums to finally he is now a soldier for Christ. Did anybody see that one coming back in the day? I heard he was now a Christian and was thinking am I in an alternate reality lol. Good for him though.. I'm not a fan of any organized religion but hey it's his life.
Shame he made those over produced post rehab albums ...
His BAND was the stuff
Well he WAS the son of a PASTOR, I mean you didn't know THAT already.
@JETJOOBOY I absolutely adore his speedballing era albums (except Special Forces).
The whole "drinking super heavy" cover story was totally bogus, as you knew he was on something else during that time. Something much stronger.
Even though its a cover song, the band did it well and a nice guitar solo too by the late incomparable Glen Buxton!
Far...better than all this pussey-ass music now. They...got moves and no bands. They look like a bunch of fucking-sissey-ass cheerleaders🤔!!!
Sun,arise come filling-up the hollow🤔!!! Get it the son of man filling-up the hollow and with out it we're hollow. Alice Cooper is aborn-again-christian.but,he went through his shit too🤔!!! Alice is taking about the holy Spirit 🤔!!!
no. It's a cover of a rolf harris song, which was based off an aboriginal cultural song iirc.
Like ALICE? Check out GLITTER DOGS. 70's style rock
No Bieber top 40 auto tune shit! YouTube Spotify iTunes
great version i seen him live in Wagga
The LP was tight.. each song glue for the next surprise Cooper had in store for us... As kids we loved what they had to add to our lives.. Michigan early 70's.
Grew up listning to alice,,hell yeah!!!
Great Lp saw them in 1971 and 1972 ... always great shows..
I wasn't born then...
Wow.. Must have been awesome
This song reminds me of the sun rise on a summer morning in a purple haze. Love ya Alice.
I remember running away when I was a kid and had this album cover in the fort I made..On the inside of the cover was Alice's eyes gobbed full of mascara and you could see the band in the black of his eyes..ballad of Dwight fry so cool...I gotta get out of here...I gotta get out of here ..gotta get out of here.....dammit someone pleas bring me back...I will give anything ..please bring me back..people don't know what Colombian Gold is now days ....
Colombian Gold = $60/oz, Mexican = $40/oz, Home Grown = $20/oz I REMEMBER!!!
It looked like BLOOD coming from the eyes and forming tarantula legs is what it looked like.

to each his own. a reply like this speaks volumes about the author
Dont like the music? More for us
you are a creep
That seems a bit brutal. Maybe they liked the original. I love this one, but to each their own.
@Debbie Dempsey " that's a bit harsh"? I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt that you don't know what the f*** you're on about.
i love it to death
Nice group vocals on this....not something Alice and Co. are known for.
Herc takes five listen to "beautiful flyaway"
i always played this at the end of my sessions.....
First concert I attended in Detroit at the precious age of 13.
phactreerat - i grew up there, went to Southfield Lathrup High School. During the late 80's, though. Nice to see so many Michiganders on here. Aside from Iggy Pop, Alice Cooper is thee local patron saint to so many of us!
Cherie, FL HERE, DJ'a go to 87' returns, that ws my first of 5 best being DRAGONTOWN AND DIRY DIAMONDS, DIDNT PLAY LONG B4 the CRUE. THAT WAS MY IRST AT AGE 16 lotta trippincampingtrips that is. were far better in WOODS, JUST W/CUZ ! ZIPPER CATCHES SKIN WAS SPECIALLY FORCED 2 THAT I THINK RULE, TO ME ANYWAY.
@John Wiley wow...i love hearing stories about seeing the original band ..thanks!!! Did they wrap it w/"Return of the spiders" and did Mike and Glen have their Brown and White SG's and Dennis too ? Or was he playing a Fender ?
@Philip Holmes I don't recall if they wrapped with "Return of the Spiders" but they *did* play it at some point in the latter part of the show. No idea who had what guitars. We were all 14/15-year-old stoners. It's a minor miracle I remember being there, at all. :D
