I'm pretty sure she's aware they are two separate people, she just thought it was okay to say it the way she did. I think it's kind of understandable actually, if you're trying to get the message across that they (as a unit, I don't know if I would call them "a band") are ONE of her favorite groups I guess. Maybe the best was to say it would be that they are among her favorite artists/singers, but I don't think she thought they were just one person
