This whole album is great! Such an underrated artist

Despite his tremendously successful debut album which went platinum, Aldo Nova seemed to fade into obscurity afterwards. Yes, his second album went gold but I don't recall MTV playing any more of his videos. Aldo couldn't seem to recapture the success of his first LP.

Well Aldo Nova had some personal problems. His girlfriend had a drug dependence problem. He started writing things like monkey on your back. For a life style of abundance and indulgence anti drug stance was not a popular message. MTV liked I want a new drug by Huey Lewis more than monkey on your back. I felt he did even better work after his debut album but the true test is the cash register.

Ill always remember listening to this record and then cassette after my father recorded it. My love at the time a boy by the name of Danny. Its so sad remembering the pain of someone who barely knew i was alive and running with a crowd that was more "his age". I thought back then the security of my grandparents love in the town that Danny lived was all I needed. Little did i know they would be dead one 4yrs later and the other following within 3 yrs. Sounds like alot of rambling but its funny how as an adult now i have picked people in life that in some way are either not there(unavailable to me)or are emotionally also not there(unavailable). Watching the video has been cathartic. Awesome well done song. All these years later.....
