I disagree, Greg. The song is about a stripper's feelings, not about stripping. It's about hiding pain, keeping your head up even when the chips are down, and trying to fix what's broken even when you know you can't. The music itself is emotive and the chorus' lyrics express a desire to be free of pain.
I listened to Cool Kids and while I liked the music, the lyrics are talking about the 'cool kids' being perfect and the protagonists wanting to be like them. Without the video, it loses some of it's message and even with it, it's not the same feeling at all.
