Alan Parsons Project, The - Wine From The Water Lyrics
You can take me up, you can wind me down
There's no escape, but I'll never drown
No wires or strings, No rough and smooth
Just fires and stings, Watch me closely, Watch my every move
And you know I just can't lose
Wine from the water, Gold from a tree
I wouldn't fool you, There's nothing up my sleeve
Look for a mirror, There's nothing there
I get rings out of nowhere, Money from thin air
I can break these chains, While I'm upside down
Well it may seem strange, I don't hit the ground
Now you see my hand, Is quicker than your eye
I can count your money while I check your hand
And you know I just can't lose
Wine from the water, Gold from a tree
I wouldn't fool you, There's nothing up my sleeve
Think of a number, I'll get it right
Throw me in the river, Tie my hands up tight
I can wind you up, I can turn you round
No cunning stunts, till the lady's found
No coils or springs, just nice and smooth
No Knaves or Kings, Find the lady, Watch my every move
I can count your money while I check your hand
And you know I just can't lose
Wine from the water, Gold from a tree
I wouldn't fool you, There's nothing up my sleeve
Look for a mirror, No, nothing there
I get rings out of nowhere, Money from thin air
Wine from the water, Gold from a tree
Now I wouldn't fool you, There's nothing up my sleeve
Think of a number, I'll get it right
You can throw me in the river, Tie my hands up tight
Wine from the water, Gold from a tree
Now I wouldn't fool you, There's nothing up my sleeve
Look for a mirror, There's nothing there
I get rings out of nowhere, Money from thin air

Excelentes arreglos, ritmo, contrastes, esta canción tiene todo. No sé si sonaría mejor con la voz de el otro Eric (Woolfson), yo respeto mucho la selección del artista, aunque obviamente en su momento no era elección poner a Woolfson.
Great song! Love AP and Eric Stewart. The perfect match.
... and to think i didn't like slow songs.. converted by the end...Siren Song is Beautiful.... 😘
I always listened "I can catch your money,.," instead "I can count your money...". Unbelievable!!!
Het darticus! Your dad has good taste in music!
Very nice recording quality. I am listening on klipsch 20i ear buds and it is greatly appreciated.
Reminds me of when commercial radio was a good place to hear real music.
My dad used to play this song all the time, and I totally forgot about it! Thank you for helping me find this song...
Didn't recognize at first that it was Eric Stewart at lead vocals. It's much deeper than in most 10cc songs.
+Tomasz Toft he also sang "Siren Song" on the same album "try anything once" with Alan Parsons. it is also deep, as you say. i think it is even deeper. they lyrics really make you think about life. a beautiful song
Sherry Fitzgerald. Sure does!!! "Tales of mystery and imagination by Edgar Allen Poe" True musical geniuses!
@sherry fitzgerald Listen to his song Guitaaarghs from his solo career. Even deeper than Siren Song
It's a great album, but this is ma favourite track (-:
I fully agree
" I can count your money while I shake your hand". Love that line. You can't be any smoother than that!
It's sort of a tribute to the infamous Eye In The Sky phrase, "I can cheat you blind."
I know Woolfson had already left the band then, but it would be great this song with his voice.
I thought the same thing too, first time I heard this.
hopefully i wont have to wait 3 monts-2yrs for someone else to reply
wine for the water & the three of me best songs on the album. Maybe best songs they had in the decade of the 90's
The Siren Song and Re-Jigue are pretty great too.
The Whole album is Great!
+alan coop It is, like all their albums, IMHO.
"Oh Life (There Must Be More)" is also a killer track, thanks to Messers Parsons and Pack.
@Lone Survivor Cheap, how? The song has very Project-esque sonics. You hear that song, and you know AP was involved.
Incredible super smooth badass kickass song..........this song seriously kicks asssssssss......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
even if prefer the Eric Woolfson part, this album is every good album even the two after
Fucking song kicks ass! Thanks for posting.
i like this song :)
a velvety song
I had a high school friend, we both were freaky.APP fans and we used to collect all the albums, I remember when this album came up and we listened to this song, he told me that this song would have sounded great with Eric´s voice.
'bout time someone posted this excellent tune. thanx!
Excelente cancion. una de mis favoritas del album.
