Alan Parsons Project, The - Turn It Up Lyrics
It's no good believing in somebody else
If you can't believe in yourself
You give them the reason to take all the power and wealth
It's no good you trying to sit on the fence
And hope that the trouble will pass
If there's something you find to believe in
Then the message must get through
So don't just sit in silence
When you know what to do
Turn it up, turn it up, make it louder
Turn it up, turn it up, make it louder
There's no conversation if nobody speaks
There's no confrontation when fantasy makes you its friend
So much injustice, too many lies
We don't have to look very far
But nothing will change if we leave things the way that they are
If there's something you find to believe in
Then the message must get through
So don't just sit in silence
When you know what to do
Turn it up, turn it up, make it louder
Turn it up, turn it up, make it louder
If there's something you find to believe in
Then the message must get through
So don't just sit in silence
When you know what to do
Turn it up, turn it up, make it louder
Turn it up, turn it up, make it louder

Alan Parsons Project, The Turn It Up Comments
Well tonight bringing a sleeping bag could be usefull as they days are and the rain could be temporary phenomenon
It is about time (no pun intended!) that Alan Parsons was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. He certainly deserves it!
Bernardo.com musician
Von Jahr zu Jahr gefällt mir das Lied besser. Ein Klassiker!
David and Chris, what an amazing dreamteam. Make it louder

I do Christian music, now, am happy now, God bless Tom Tracy
Sitting on the fence
Alan parsons is a musical and technical genious who makes music with thoughtful lyrics and timeless melodies.
Funny how he makes fun of (The Cloud). We are TOO dependent on techno these days. I fear for our Grandkids and beyond. No human touch see talk to a face already
This was 1993, two years before the WWW became a mainstream thing. The cloud metaphor is about people thinking they're way above it all...

love this song, ... by the way: Vocals by "Chris Thompson" ... the voice of "Manfred Manns Earth Band", wonderful!
Well, Chris isn't THE voice of the band but one of them. And a very good one at that.
It's so hard is what he saying tru no hypocritism 2015 good year proof that i can be open, 2016 again i want to close, cause it's life you can't always be open otherwise you have to live in buddhist temple, i wish in city there was this absolute freedom with no limits but cities are cities, nature is different. i pray someday we all will be free. btw last moment of clip is priceless.

Such a dumb music video for such a good song. It totally takes away from the power of the music.
my girlfriend's song <3
Ok era un segreto: io sono Superman!
Ok era un segreto: io sono Superman!
Will I ever find "my way home" ?
Lord I hope not! LOL
...Jon & Vangelis I think XD
Alan Parsons, free thinker creating musical imagery; who reaches deep into your mind unlocking it, exposes the system and wakes the sheep, with the power of words and music. You don't need a video, all you need is your imagination and his music. Very powerful stuff and at times spiritual. I always look forward to hear what he will come up with next. Alan Parsons wherever you are YOU AE VERY APPRECIATED, you make lifes journey a little smoother for all of us. Thank You.
This album is on par with best APP works, in my opinion
STORM THORGERSON IN MOTION!
Cuantos pseudomusicos de la actualidad deberian aprender de este maestro!!!
if i had to pick terms as how to define both of them individually i'd say, that Parsons is a genius, while Oldfield is a master!...also lets not forget about Jean Michel Jarre please!...he belongs there as well!...
nah...Oldfield never as good sorry...he's awesome yeah, but not the caliber of Parson's awesomeness i'm afraid...not even near...
Love both, not the same league or approach or music^^
Oh & am I supposed to listen to the music as well ?? I didnt know that !! I was just commenting on the voice..... !!!
do not use the bit link for "killer beats" software...it was detected by avast to be a malware site !
Storm Thorgerson's photos/paintings made live!
That's why they are directed by the same person - the great Storm Thorgerson
I love it at the end "turn is up..."
@dddukhw yes I agree can't even believe it I was desperately searching for a nice software to compose killer beats. Listen I know people like LMFAO producer are using this software I can see why! Im making killer beats in minutes on this thing. you can get it here ==> bit.ly/Mz7mVC?=zkqiwu
One of my fave Parsons songs, Chris Thompsons voice is brilliant on this... as always
my favorite song too
Love this clip !!!
@Boddahism idk where the fuck you get your info from but i doubt its about you
salut,j'aime ce GROUPE,as toto or queen,represents so-much the 80's,never-surrender,I will !
I am no expert critic. But I think Alan Parsons is great. Nick Cave is great. INXS (when Hutchence lived) was great. Warren Beatty some say is a great actor but if you ask me, I only associate his name with "Dick Tracy" and "Splendor In The Grass" (this last one I'll have to see one day). For the rest, you rambling on about having written songs for Parsons, McLachlan, etc. and being replaced by a fake "Amy Lee"of Evanescence just tells me you are probably very bored.
@Boddahism , I read your statements. I disagree with you. The movie you mention with Warren Beatty (Heaven can Wait) has nothing to do with Wenders' masterpieces "Wings of Desire" and "Faraway, So Close!". In my opinion, "City of Angels" with Meg Ryan and Nicolas Cage should've never been made and is another example of how Hollywood can take great masterpieces of cinema and literature and completely turn them into something empty: shallow and intrascendental. At least that's what I think now.
More people should know of Alan Parsons Project, but then again quality never is to be found in the mass but in the details. And you Mr Parsosn are all full of details.
@Boddahism , "City of Angels" was not inspired by this video. It was inspired by a masterpiece of cinema called "Der Himmel über Berlin" (or "Wings of Desire", if you will), directed by Wim Wenders. City of Angels is a poor and cheap hollywood remake that should've never been made of Wim Wenders' masterpiece. I think if you ever see Wings of Desire, you'll see what I'm talking about. =)
Love the message of this song. I can't stand it when people just stand around & let evil flourish 'cause they don't want to rock the boat. I'm the type of person who can't not say anything and it has cost me alot at times.
I dont care what you call it, its still be The Alan Parsons Project to me, >:P
@Burqua12 who cares lol
@Burqua12 Try to Learn Anything Spanish xD
great song
all the times i see genesis an pink floyd hog all the limelight, i wonder, how did we forget the alan parsons project, these guys are like the testament of thrash metal, way too underrated man, way too underrated.
17 people tried to turn it up but something shorted out and their houses burned down.
+++great voice and music+++
Wonder if there is a hint to TOMAI in this video...
just one?
@AMASSEY1000 WHATS WRONG WITH THE VIDEO TELL ME PLS.
cos this video is amazing compared to videos of a band lip synking to their song with lots of mascara on or giving birth to guns or tits and asses shaking.
u miss the point of the message. im sorry for you.
people just need to take time out to listen to them!
Sitting on fences ,,,,is not good
video sucks big time - the music and message are awesome.
the best
@Noelegy
It's probably no co-incidence that this is Pink Ploydesque. Alan Parsons was the sound engineer for several of Pink Floyd's definitive albums.
Wow! Great work at combining appropriate imagery with the message being delivered through the lyrics. Folks around the world are certainly beginning to Turn It Up! The time has come. The Fourth Turning is upon us.
what is coming? can you elaborate
Jesus look up Bless
Tom Tracy
someone farting at 0:38 !!!
I suggest you to visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - ( search Musica para Mimos in Google)-. best romantic music of all the times in Internet, is great, is very good ...!!!
Does anybody know: Did Storm Thorgerson work on this video?
Nocsak, nocsak Chris Thompson?
@WalkThePath87 hahaha " ingognito... "
Espectacular, un juego de misterio e imaginación con un toque de surrealismo en los contenidos secuenciales de esta producción
@Noelegy they still are far ahead of present musicians, they are just brilliant and we don't have many like them now unfortunately
OMG these words are so true!!!
DOWN WITH THE ILLUMINATI NWO FREAKS
does it really matter what the band calls itself? Absolutely freaking great music period!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Noelegy Allan Parsons produced Pink Floyd before crearting the " Alan Parsons Project " !
I saw butt bobbles
@lakotabob I smell, where your, fartin, from... Time is, meaningless, in the moment...
Technically there were lots of Alan Parsons Projects. He considers each album the project, not the people working on it. This album "Try Anything Once" was the first one he tried without help of the late Eric Woolfson. I believe Eric went on at this time to turn Gaudi [the last Project] into a stage performance or something in Europe.
One of my favourite tracks from the ALAN PARSONS solo career! Great video too!
I've listened to AAP for 30 years had have all their releases, but the only song I got into in 'Try Anything Once' was 'Oh, Life', until now. I'm really getting into 'Turn It Up'. Excellent! It makes that album even better.
Amazed~I have a playlist and this is in... Also, new rules: Thinking Aloud is allowed! LOL
Hope you like this one ,and thanx again, Brian Smith xx :)
Hope you like this one ,and thanx again, Brian Smith xx :)
if you translate spanish-english the information:
Taken from the album Try Anything Once, the band's first album after the demise of The Alan Parsons Project
Taken from the album Try Anything Once, the band's first album after the demise of The Alan Parsons Project
This is per definition NOT a song by "Alan Parsons Project", as mentioned.
This song is by "Alan Parsons band".
One of the differences is that co-founder_of_ Alan_ Parsons_ Project/song_ writer Eric_ Woolfson isn't present on this song/record.
I like the opening scenes of New York City in about 25 years.
thanks for posting
...I was looking for this video for years,,,!Thanks,,,, ; )
un 10!!
One of my favorite Parsons songs. Somehow his videos never rose to the level of his songs.
The engineer for the Beatles at apple records? He did floyd too?
Floyd and their long-time engineer, Alan Parsons, used a multitude of sound effects--from stereophonically projected footsteps and planes flying overhead.............he was the engineer.
Some of the scenes in this look like the album cover for Delicate sound of thunder (Pink floyd)
Alan was the engineer on Dark Side, not the producer. That's not to discount his major contribution(s), but simply to set the record straight.
No, he wasn't he was only the sound engineer for Atom Heart Mother and Dark Side Of The Moon, but that's not the same as producing.
Yeah, U may say that. ...there was already some discussion about this before here. Wikipedia says the following: "He was involved with the production of several successful albums, including The Beatles' Abbey Road and Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon for which Pink Floyd credit him as an important contributor." ...no other PF albums are mentioned tough.
