Alan Parsons Project, The - Time Lyrics
Time
Flowing like a river
Time
Beckoning me
Who knows when we shall meet again
But time
Keeps flowing like a river
To the sea
Goodbye my love
Maybe for forever
Goodbye my love
The tide waits for me
Who knows when we shall meet again
If ever
Keeps flowing like a river (on and on)
To the sea
To the sea
Till it's gone forever
Gone forever
Gone forevermore
Goodbye my friend
Maybe for forever
Goodbye my friend
The stars wait for me
Who knows where we shall meet again
If ever
But time
Keeps flowing like a river (on and on)
To the sea
To the sea
Till it's gone forever
Gone forever
Gone forevermore
Forevermore
Forevermore
Forevermore
Forevermore

The year was 1991 and I was 14 years old. My Dad, gosh how he loved this song and this album. I absolutely hated it. And now, December of 2019, with my Dad having passed away 12 years ago, I’ve just had the sudden urge to play this song for the first time since then....memories and tears came flooding back 😪😪😪 Miss you Dad 💔

I've been loving this song since I heard it on the radio back in the 1980's.

Perfeito!!
Depressing but true. Dark truths > white lies.
My parents used to play this when I was growing up. I'm 46 now. Both my parents have passed on. I miss them so much. Would love to sit down with them and talk about my children with them and how they are doing. Anyways.
Muito usei na noite em 1980 stalus som.cruz alta rgs
I'm missing these songs like this. Wow so beautiful
pink floyd us and them and time copyright is my first impression melancholy peace heaven friendship imagine we did not need to maintain stuff we just threw it all out and or recycled things that are not built to last we did not get along nor respect boundaries we tried to build better smarter things and employ smarter people who followed our lead and whom we followed reciprocally Ad ifinitum through communication which was often distorted by technology and our own fallibility including perceived infallibility
I was 14 when this song came out I still remember it just like it was yesterday all those years have went by too quickly lost loved ones and classmates and friends 😢
Simply amazing
Just another gem from Parsons hope he plays this song on the into the blue cruise in April that's gonna be a cruise I gonna keep it my heart
Time is, time was.. I remember being an eight year old boy in 1980 and thinking how I couldn't wait to grow older and the days seemed to last forever. I close my eyes and in a vapor I'm 47.. Where did the years go??
Come si fa a non piangere ascoltando questo brano...simply greatful!
masterpiece
I was a kid when this song came out and it lit me up. I understood it's every nuance. I also made sure to pay attention and say "I love you" to the ones I love. This song has been with me most of my life. And here we are... listening to it in a different way, but all it's significance is still in tact, and I'm listening to it because I'm grieving … again. Great songs never lose their luster.
Man, this has to be the saddest comments section on all of youtube.
If you're caught up in the rat race of life and stressing over little things like how you look, listen to this song and its words. Your priorities will become crystal clear.....
Há alguém aqui do Brasil???? 👏👏👏🇧🇷🇧🇷🥳🥳🥳🥳🇧🇷😍😍😁👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Almost 4 decades, and still sounds good and cool as in the beginning of 80's. Say no more. Greets from Peru...

Eric Norman Woolfson (18 March 1945 – 2 December 2009). Ten years ago today. Thank you for the music.
When you're just a child, time does flow like a river. But not as you grow old. Make everyday count my friends.
This is a good song to get stoned to, or drift off after dropping some A.
Us and them.......Pink Floyd ...?....genius...
I met this band thinking it was Pink Floyd. Great song and great band

The most beautiful pop song ever composed.
Canción ideal para escucharla cuando voy en la carretera.
One of the first songs, along with 'Longer' by Dan Fogelberg, that I remember hearing on radio and loving when I was like 3 or 4 years old.

Time... I wished time was what it used to be...to me. There use to be a time when I wanted it to be about the things that were happening now, .then I Learned it was my past time that the made the difference.
Us and Them... Time.
Ah no mames k sad :’’v
It's a sad reality that we can:t hold and back time.. everything that has past nothing but just a memories to flashback
It reminds me my happy memories of my younger years. Anyone at nov 22, 2019?
La cara de estafador que tiene el pelado, la cagó.
And I always thought pink Floyd sang this no joke
All these years
Good bye my love
The sounds of eternity with heavenly overtones brought to you by the master of the craft, Alan Parsons. Quite an amazing hymn that makes you cry I might add.
Time is energy that sucks everything in to keep motion in this universe....
«A fantastic woman» soundtrack 😍
T recordare siempre PA....10-11-2019...💔💔💔😭😭😭
Alguien de Arequipa?
Could've been a Pink Floyd song. "Time"less classic!
YEPPER !!!
This song holds the saddest and heart wrenching memories that I have. Came out the month I graduated from HS. I had already joined the service and had 2 weeks till I left for active duty on a 3 year hitch.
I had to get out of my hometown, I felt compelled to get out in the world, serve my country as my dad, uncles and older brothers had. I didn’t want to just feed off my parents $$ and essentially continue HS by enrolling in the local university. Too easy, you need to give back to this country before you take from her.
All was well and good except for my poor mother. She knew that her baby boy was leaving in 2 weeks. She had sent other sons to Vietnam and elsewhere, now it was my turn.
Little did I understand how much my leaving signaled the end of her parenting of 6 kids. I left for a week right after graduation on my final senior trip with friends to Panama City Fla, coming back left me with just one week to be with her and my friends, family.
I would catch her crying quietly, not fully realizing how much it was paining her to have to let go of her youngest. All the while this song was on the radio. Time. It was my time to start a life, it was her time to let me go. I loved my mother deeply. She was an angel, no son could have asked for a better mother.
I left on 9 June 1981. I ended up doing 27 years in the Navy, having a very successful career. My mother died while I was deployed to the Persian gulf Dec 1994. My family waited the week it took me to get home before we buried her. All the while this song was playing in my head.
Now as a parent who has had to let go of my own 2 grown kids so that they may live their lives, I have an inkling into how my mother felt. Doesn’t make it any easier, I just have an idea of the pain, Pride, worry and anxiety she must have felt.
Thank you Alan Parsons for this song. I knew my life was going to change, little did I know how powerful this song would be for the rest of my life.
Goodbye everyone.
One thing I truly dig about the music comment sections, particularly on good songs such as this, is the total agreement among commenters.
It is true, I am also 58 and it is a wonderful pain to think back. Greetings from Germany
Can't help but think of Us And Them by Pink Floyd. Both songs are beautiful.
1980 hanging out with my new wife of 1 year in Panama City Beach Florida. I thought I had the world by the tail. Where has time gone ?? I miss those days so badly. Such great times, and young
For the soul,,, time do not exist.
Eric woolfson peace 💜
Always loved this song but now it has even more meaning. I lost my good friend Connie on Nov 8 after a long-fought battle with breast cancer. I will miss her very much. Who knows when we shall meet again?
Do the lyrics “the stars wait for me,” imply boarding a starship and literally heading out on a one way journey to the stars?
Masterpiece
Definitely a forever classic. The song of my lovely days. I'm 65 now and still burst into tears whenever I hear it...
amazing- timeless song
Exelente
Time is your best friend. It’s also your worst enemy. But it’s precious so embrace it.
Another great song, but not on the same emotional level, is Pink Floyd's song Time. And Alan Parson produced Dark Side of the Moon.
I get asked all the time why I still ride motorcycles even though I'm pushing 60. I tell them that time waits for no one and marches on to God's beat. I wanna LIVE in the time that I'm given. All people die but not all really live.
I remember this one from when I was little.
What a beautiful song. Fellow readers, if I knew where time went I would freely share it with you. It just vanishes. To be young again....
I had not thought of Alan Parsons in years & I came upon this. I had forgotten how wonderful this song is & how much I really appreciated & liked Alan Parsons.
This song touches me to my core being...each time I've listened to it. So much of my life is gone like the river, forevermore in the past. So little happens now. But I know where I am headed and I pray that my loved ones will all join me there at my real home. I am just a visitor for a short time in eternity here on this earth. I look forward to a full and amazing future because Jesus chose me, and I am going to Heaven one wonderful day. Don't agree? What if I'm right and you're wrong? What is there to gain. And more importantly, where do you want to spend eternity? What if?
So sad, gutted right now, i miss you mum 😩😑
This song is timeless pun intended.
Beautiful song...
The music is the time machine just listen and you will be back there
Just remember when you are a kid, every funny moment, every time that you cried, felt happy, all your moments, all your secrets will fly with you to the next life, the life pass in one minute,
nice song👍
AMERICANOS E INGLESES DOMINAM O MUNDO DA MUSICA POPULAR. FATO INCONTESTAVEL.

Beautiful Song! Perfect!
Time em Out de 2019 ?
nn si smette mai di ascoltarli a distanza di anni
K linda cancion
The time is also now, those moments are gone but kept deep inside each one of us as treasures in our hearts. For those still around do whatever you always wanted to do now, not tomorrow we're alive now today. Say sorry to those you ought to and I love you to those you need, forgive and forget old situations, let time flow like the river, free to the sea.
Epoca de la buena musica con sentido,80s...
