Alan Jackson - You're Not Drinking Enough Lyrics
I can see that you haven't recovered
From the girl who let you down
You would sell what is left of your soul
For another go 'round
Maybe you should call her bluff
But if you don't really mean it
You must not be drinking enough
Well, the perfume she wore
You can buy down at the five and dime
But on some other woman
It don't smell the same in your mind
You keep telling yourself you can take it
But if you still want to hold her
You must not be drinking enough
You're not drinking enough
To wash away old memories
And there ain't enough whiskey in Texas
To keep you from begging, please, please, please
She passed on your passion, stepped on your pride
It turns out you ain't quite so tough
'Cause you still want to hold her
You must not be drinking enough
You heard this grown man cry
You ask yourself why
'Cause you still want to hold her
You must not be drinking enough
Ay, ay, ay, ay
Ask yourself why
You still wanna hold her
You must no be drinking enough

Alan Jackson You're Not Drinking Enough Comments
The most famous version of the song is Earl Thomas Conley from the album The Heart of it all
.....Don Henley's version is better......
way better
I love Alan Jackson 's. He's doing better.
good but come on... no one touches Henley.
Sounds good honey.I'm so impressed.
Esta bella música a cruzado las fronteras.
.Honey Alan
Back then Alan sang the songs sounding like the artist that owned it...He didn't know he was good enough to sing his own way!
Paulette Cournoyer amen!
NO Wonder I didn't recognize him then like I do now.
Doesn't sound like him to me
NO it doesn't sound like him at all.
It sounds like a totally different person.
Yes it is Alan Jackson covering Don Henley.
ARE YOU SERIOUS?
you obvisly don`t know anything about Alan Jackson - you just proved it by this writing. THIS IS ALAN, AND FOR THOSE WHO REALLY KNOW HIM AND HIS SONGS, KNOW THIS !!!!
People have albums from independent labels that they don't want released. This album was released in Japan and it is Alan Jackson. Its called improvement. You people think these stars just automatically appear. Alan was not that great when he first started. He got better with performing and handling his vocals. There use to be an appearance of him on Nashville Now before he was big and it was not very good. They took it off cause I can no longer find it.
This is Alan singing, and if you can`t hear it, you got a lot to learn about Alan Saulo and all you others!!!
Are you kidding me Iris?
who is singing is not Alan Jackson !!!!?
SAULO SPADIN yes it is Alan :)
I thought it was.
Yes it’s Alan. Before he got signed.
Are you sure Sharon? I sure hope so.
Earl Thomas Conley did the best vrsion ever..check it out
blocked already
This sounds more like Hank Williams Jr.
I was going to say that.
It don't come close to Waylon Jennings. Waylon Jennings sounds alot better than that. I Can't rightfully say that is it Alan Jackson either. There is a CD release in 1987 called New Traditional by Alan Jackson. But according to Alan Jackson's website, he never released it. That is why I wonder if it was a Bootleg that someone passed around as Alan Jackson.
Are you kidding me John? I love Alan Jackson 's music.
I don't know WhoTF it is ...., but it ain't Alan..., comes closer to Waylon than Alan.
LizardKing0851 it is Alan. this was before he was recognized. he felt he wasn't good enough. he has the talent of mocking the sounds he hears from animals to people. by the time his first studio album was released he had built up the confidence to sing his way. :) hope this helps
Good Stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is definitely Alan, just before he hit his first record deal. Maybe he was experimenting with vocal stylings up until he decided on the one he has today?
@gsxrbuckeye Now that's funny! lol!
@gsxrbuckeye relax bro, it's just a demo.
this dick head murdered this Henley classic!
Still did better than you, bitch.
@elementdude12022 You do it then because I'm not getting my third strike!
I like it. Even if he does sound different, I can still tell it's AJ. Thanks for sharing this.
i did some research, and found a discography, and this is on it, along with this song, so YES this is Alan singing here. he does sound very different!
No way is this Allan Jackson singing....and Matt Minglewood did the best version of this song!!!
JoAnne Dubeau no its not allan jackson, its alan jackson
Are you sure about that?😠
@tazznteddy Then who the heck is it huh?
I have been looking all over for this cd. I can't download it or anything. Do you have any suggestions?
MsKirbmeister it was never actually released unfortunatly. I have found copies of it on ebay for like $75. this was his demo before he was picked up
Thanks for posting this I have been looking forever for Don Henley's version. But Alan surely comes close enough for me.
