Aiko, Jhene - Mystic Journey (Freestyle) Lyrics

Closer to my destiny
Closer to the connection
Closer to what I'm destined to be
Closer to you
Closer to my destiny
Closer to the connection
Closer, we are connected
Don't you feel your connection to me?

Think it's how you and I take it all the way
Take this thang from L.A.
Anyone has seen
Take this love, give it 'til we're in harmony
We've become greater when we are truly
Better as a collective
Better when we're connected

Closer to the connection
Closer to my destiny
Closer to the connection
Closer to what we're destined to be

Take the time, get it right
We could find a way
Take this love, give it 'til there's no suffering
We become better when we could stand as one
Rise above, no more war, some more peace and love

Better as a collective
Better when we're connected
Closer to the connection
Closer to what we're destined to be
Closer to you
Closer to my destiny
Closer to the connection
Closer to what we're destined

Aiko, Jhene Mystic Journey (Freestyle) Comments

To me this song means we are better when we put our egos aside and we come together as a collective or as one. This is what we’re destined to be means we are all waking up and some of us are crossing over to the 5th dimension. It’s only a matter of time before the whole world is influenced by these vibrations and they will soon have their awakening. This is a part of our spiritual development and it’s crucial that we reach this point if we want to live in peace.

Shes talking about killing herself/death to be closer to her brother, who is dead

Sedatin aint quite death though. Numbin and travellin away into a different atmosphere.

    Wow, ever heard of euphemism?

@Ricky Ncukana you're woefully uninformed, must be a new fan or completely oblivious. Jhene in her interviews, blogs, and other songs has plainly said she's excited for the afterlife so she can be with her brother again. over and over AND over again, yet you leave this dumb comment being sarcastic, smdh. Do better nigga.

mad woke Giovanni, nice. Dope name too, btw.

    Ricky Ncukana

@N C First of all, I've been a fan since Sail Out in 2013, second of all I do understand Jhene's will to die so as to meet his brother who died of cancer, but I think there are many ways of describing death than just saying 'death'. Jhene's will is to meet afterlife, not just cease from living. She may be suicidal because that's her only route to this afterlife she wants, but the song isn't just being about being miserably suicidal, it's about the wistful envy to ascend to afterlife in hope of meeting Miyagi, his late brother. Miyagi is not just dead, he has ascended to afterlife, hence I think Giovanni should have used that instead. I was, not in any way, trying to offend anyone.
