Agnetha Faltskog - Past, Present And Future Lyrics

[The Past]
Past - well now let me tell you about the past
Past is filled with silent joys and broken toys
Laughing girls and teasing boys
Was I ever in love?
I called it love
I mean - it felt like love
There were moments when...
Well, there were moments when...

Go out with you?
Why not?
Do I like to dance?
Of course
Take a walk along the beach tonight?
I'd love to
(But) Don't try to touch me
Don't try to touch me
Cause that will never happen again
Shall we dance?

[The Future]
Tomorrow - well... Tomorrow is a long way off
Maybe someday I'll hold somebody's hand
Maybe somewhere someone will understand
You know - I used to sing: "A tisket, a tasket, a green and yellow basket"
I'm all packed up and I'm on my way and I'm gonna fall in love
But at the moment it's doesn't look good
At the moment it will never happen again
I don't think it will ever happen again

Agnetha Faltskog Past, Present And Future Comments
  1. Johan Klomp

Agnetha made this song so good! Like if it is her song from her self!

  2. Daniel 045

Reminds me just how quickly the years go by and how deep and lengthy a bad memory can linger.
A lifetime is too brief. This musical narrative fills me with joy and sorrow all at once...hauntingly beautiful.💘

  3. Johan Klomp

This one is the best cover from Agnetha ever.

  4. Johan Klomp

This cover she made this so good!

  5. anthony perkins

This is a song about her past love life, and where it all went so horribly wrong, the present as where things stand now, and the future where things may or may not pan out and that she might fall in love again, but is a not a given or a guarantee that she ever will.

What God has United ska människan inte separera. Och jag ska inte hjälpa mera Helsingin Astangajoogakoulua cause the Love of Yoga.
OM MANI PADME HUM:) HUMMANI HEI:) So long, du ska inte höra from mej, kanske Sri K. Pattabhi Jois kan hjälpa dig. God Natt, sov gott.

I'm sorry but I don't think that 'song' was a convincing display of talent. I mean, I like Agnetha's voice - one of the great singers, in my humble opinion. But that wasn't singing. It was just some campy pseudo-poetry set to campy music that could have been as easily narrated by anyone.

    Delius Lyndon

You're actually really, really wrong. This is a very famous song that has been covered by some very prominent singers, and all you have to do is listen to some of them and see the quality that Agnetha gives this piece. She fully commits to it, and the style of her narration is otherworldly. You're entitled to your opinion, of course, but your opinion displays profound ignorance of popular music. Sorry.

    Paul Miller

@Delius Lyndon It's not a song; it's a poem set to music, mostly talked through as opposed to sung. And when you look at it like that, it's not a very good poem, in my view. For a singer like Angetha, way below her talent level.

    Delius Lyndon

Wait. If a poem set to music is not a song, then what is a song??

    Paul Miller

@Delius Lyndon I know this is a complicated concept, but a poem spoken is a poem and a poem sung is a song.

Paul Miller Thank you for educating me. 🙄

This is chilling and haunting, still lovely though!

The original version of this song was performed by Shangri-las.

  12. The Verbally Abusive Clown

I've never cried so much watching a video in my life. Extremely emotional for me.

  13. TheTowerBridgeFox

This is my favourite song from that album , Im not sure the video adds anything.

  14. MarkPMus

Not sure about the promo clip - but I always loved her performance of the song. Very camp.
