Why burn bridges?

there's 2 versions of this song and "national myth".both of them appear on Vivida Vis! and also have a "solo acoustic version" from late 97/ early 98 that sounds a bit different.

Yeah, i really with they hadn't grown up so much. this shit hits home so well - the angst and the distress. it sucks to know that i'll have to only make due with this album because, though several others of theirs are good, they'll never make music like this again

I feel like the whole thing--from beginning to end--has been a progression and growth that Laura has experienced. It's all amazing, in my opinion. It's just really different than their new stuff.

I love AM acoustic album Crime and reinventing Axl Rose, but this sounds like shit. I mean, it's fun and all pretending that the earliest stuff is always the best. But this is shit. Shitty sound, shitty drumming, shitty vocals. The lyrics are interesting and passionate even though very idealistic and representing his immaturity at the time. Artists improve, mature, refine their talent, and their fans continue to act like the first thing they shat out was pure gold because it's not mainstream.

@dread head Although I actually think this sounds really nice, the later stuff is definitely better in terms of instrumentals and production quality.

They definitely went against most of the things their early songs set out to preach though. That's why they don't play those songs anymore. Even on request they refuse to.
