After The Burial - Disconnect Lyrics
The sway of distance
A suffering march
Lives tremble on and on
We usher burdens that see us through
Blinding light emanates guiding me from within
For I am just part of who I was back then
Where we were. When this all began
Inside this vision I am no longer in control of my own life
Sickened by surroundings. Occupied and weak
Tangled and desperate I expand
I am paper thin. Lines etched and carved from misery
Somebody help me please. Because I can never leave this place
I am afraid of becoming you
For I am just a part of who I was
Where we were. When this all began
Something inside me. I cannot fix
So we begin again
So send me to my grave
Lives tremble on and on
But we are just a perception of a common theme
We are something more
I pretend I am better
I disconnect
Searching and believing
That we are something more
I pretend I am better
I disconnect

Love that outro
3:56 blessed
"Guiding me from within" is by far my favorite scream/shout in metal ever
I started listening as an adult but this somehow brings me back to childhood
still one of the best outros ever
I pretend I am better
I disconnect
This is fucking perfect
The tone of this outro is absolutely amazing.
Still a masterpiece 2019
love this one =D
Beautiful song.thank u after the burial
This intro reminds me of ''Pendulum'' a little bit..
You can kinda hear in the guitar riffs where Justin's mind was when he was writing them. Heavy as fuck yet so fucking somber. RIP JUSTIN....
Jakob Sin it's been 4 years since he left this world RIP😔❤️
Eric Bugenhagen's dumbbell rows brought me here

mark gonzalez -✌😊🤘
Rest easy Justin. I am atheist but I know you are still shredding somewhere.
the universe aimlessly rushes nowhere originated out of nothing and means nothing
The melodies in this song hit me very hard
Brad Cardis -me too✌🙂🤘
This is such a beauty!
My gosh, never knew a djent band could sound this good with pretty much every song they release... amazing stuff!
Vance Griffin -👍🙄🤘
The intro sounds a lot like priestess by periphery
Fuck you
Tank Caron ? Dick
Everything about this song makes it one of if not the best they've ever written
KILLING ME FROM WITHIN!!!!!
One of my favorite songs to jam too. So fucking awesome \m/
am i the only one who feels emotional listening to this? Speaks volumes i can relate.
Evelyn Evans -nope✌🙂🤘
Something about AtB, triggers something very deep within me.
It trips me out.
5:24 that lil harmony just gets me every time.
Lyrics over sound
I love the sound of this song fucking !
listen to this when you're dunk and have 'the spins'
whoa man. YUS
Mike Morrell -I don't drink alcohol, but I suggest listening to this on a shroom buzz.
Dig Dee doesn't even come close to this album...this is a true masterpiece.
@tehmisteh this lol^^^
Half of dig deep is written by Justin
Yeah who doesn't know laurentian ghosts was written by him? It's clearly on his demo real. And he might have written part of the album but that doesn't he was finished...this album just sounds different. Idk if you guys play guitar but it's definitely not as complex.
I've been playing guitar for years! and if I know anything, I know playing isn't about being complex. thats when music becomes more of a sport than an art
tehmisteh okay, maybe complex isn't the right word to use. It's more like growth and progression. As a musician you would know that that's something you should strive for. Every album of there's has had some sort of growth and every kind of way. I never said the album was bad, that's why I think it's funny when people get so defensive about it. It's definitely not their best.
Joshua Salgado And Rareform is miles ahead of In Dreams, this album, and Dig Deep..
the most gorgeous outro in metal, right next to A Vicious Reforming of Features
and a wolf amongst raven. gets me everytime
I fucking love this song and I fucking love Minnesota!!
RIP Justin Lowe. Kickass guitarist and I'm sure he was a great guy.
such amazing clean tone omg
The vocals remind me ALOT of Winston McCall, especially near the start.
+Nichibon no they dont
Fucking amazing album
3:56 - 5:58 <3
Amazin band rip justin
This song is so beautiful. I love the outro. Listening to this is like taking a bath in honey. It's so sad that Justin died. He will be forever in our hearts. R.I.P. Justin Lowe
Buba Jones -a bath in honey would be one trippy experience.
R.I.P. Justin Lowe. Fuck all of your fake friends and family who didn't take what you've been worried about into consideration. If you were mentally ill, then I'm sorry for that. No one will ever know.
@Malcefium Mike Dude, how can you possibly know what his friends and family did or didn't do? We don't know SHIT at this point. Wait for the official story, because right now you are just making baseless assumptions.
@OfArgento It's directed to the FAKE friends and family, not all of them.
"Fuck you, predominantly bad people, for living up to your reputation"...
That's a very valuable comment, just like this one by me. Thank you for taking the time to write it?
A very good song ! RIP Justin
Wolves amongst ravens is the most go all out song I've ever heard. But holy fuck this song holds a very special place in my heart.
From 4:40 on hits me..like I guess you could say that when that part comes on I disconnect from being both happy and sad at the same time ..like I disconnect from the pass but want to disconnect from the future of what's to come
Wow, this album is so damn good. I love it
From 4:40 on I want that part to play when my cremated Ashes to be flown into space when I die :,)
I don't know why people keep saying cod had thrusters first. Halo 4 had the thruster pack and the one in halo 5 is a far better improved version of that. Hovering was in reach with jetpacks though this version of hovering is better with standing in place
Crysis had ground pounds as well and clambering has been in other games.
Like artists, it's not uncommon to borrow elements and add it to your work. Halo needs a way to evolve other wise people would complain if it stayed the same but had better visuals.....
I can't help but fully agree.
everytime i listen this song it gives me so much courage and strength.
ja pierdolę jaki dobry zespół! :)
3:03 @Kayleigh Keelyn Grove u gotta love that breakdown cuz were doin' it.....i mean the alternating thing
Thank you, After The Burial.
These guys write such good music!
So beast!!!
This song never ceases to completely blow my mind every time I hear it.
Best song one the album. And all of em are good
Somebody write the tabs already! :\
Use your ear? It's not THAT hard to atleast get that ending. And some dude already posted outro playthrough so you can watch that.
Minnesota represent \m/
A MASTERPIECE!!!
The intro reminds me of In Flames for some reason.
what song out of curiosity?
@bryan huizenga Nothing specific, just classic In Flames in common. Maybe Moonshield, or god knows...
I really got an In Flames vibe from a lot of bits on this album. Mostly how later era In-Flames sounded (like re-route up through Come Clarity, not the most recent few) sounded, but there's definitely a couple melodies that are more old school. I even felt some power-metal esque vibes on some of the melodies, especially the shreddier bits. And then this song had that one straight up black metal blast beat part. They've done a really good job of incorporating a lot of different influences into a unique and brilliantly constructed whole.
i agree, or unearth even. kinda reminds me of aveneged sevenfold at some points too
3:05 reminds me of berzerker
3:04 sounds so familiar
The melody from 4:16 on gives me chills
When TRENT HAFDAHL turned down the WBL High-School Goaltending position in Varsity Hockey to spend more time honing his Guitar skills I thought he was crazy. I never imagined it would pay off this well. I always had a feeling Justin would do something big but to see and hear these two together is just amazing.
Trent is a fucking GOD. RIP Justin
My favorite song off the new album :3
Ahh reminds me of Aspirations
SO JADED BELIEVING THAT WE, WE ARE SOMETHING MOOOOOOORE
"Searching and Believing", but "So Jaded Believing" works really well also. I would take it either way.
GOD DAMNIT I HAVE FAAAAAAAAAAAILED
Hey man, it could be worse. You could be one of those beliebers or juggalos or something.
True, true... It feels close enough when this is my all time favorite band. lol
I pretend I'm better, I disconnect
that outro is pure bliss
@Matthew Ahn Agreed. The outro can only be described as, "beautiful."
fav song off the album, fucking unreal guys
Great song, im glad i picked this one to listen to.
me too Zack
The band is great. The recording is not.
Everyone has something to complain about. Its not perfect. So fucking what. What is perfect anyway? Just appreciate the fact that these underpaid musicians bust their asses to put out music for unappreciative fans; half of which wont even shell out so much as 20 bucks for a shirt at one of their shows so they can eat dinner that night.
Ben Lindblom -very well stated.
I must admit that I think each AtB song is perfection.
well there goes another sock, to the bottom of my hamper :/
After listening to this album id have to conclude that this is the most pinnacle sounding ATB album out there. Whilst might being less technical overall, they still showcase their technicality in other parts throughout the songs while providing soul through melodies and groovy time signatures. This album is unmatched, and ATB deserves to go down in metal history.
Amazing grooove and the solo.. wowow
Boner achieved.
Best track on the album, imo. Soooooooo good. These guys put out great music. Sometimes it's better than others but it's all good. Forget the haters.
Didn't mind the sound of the new album, but vastly proffered their last few albums, that is until i heard this. hands down the best track on the album, that outro takes me back to the FAFS/rareform days.
love it.
i wish the production didnt piss me off so much cos this song is amazing :/
Want to congratulate you guys so much on this album, it's totally another amazing unique release, just so sick. damn.
I just bought the album. fucking right this song is soo awesome, I don't usually like blast beats but it was sooo well used in this song, god damn I love it, this song is my fav off the album so farrrr
best song of the whole album
dat breakdown <3
The beginning. Just...amazing.
hell yeah
Truly love this, vocals remind me of Parkway :)
Hahahahahaha clearly not
I reallly love After The Burial. They are one of my all time favorite bands. But it sounds like they recorded this album through a dildo.
one of the few bands that never disappoints
Sounds like killswitch engage to me
A masterpiece!
This song and album are simply amazing
With the song title and the solo like that at the end I think this song should of been the album's closer.
I thought the same here man
Wow this is great!
dude this song is fucking badass, one of the best songs i ever heard from this band :D they worked really hard on this album eh? i want to buy it as soon as i can afford to do so
Thank you soooo much for uploading this record. Been a die hard ATB fan since Grant and Forging, and this is an immaculate record. Good djob boys. Wrote this one with one hand;)
