There would only be about 4 AFI albums if they did the same route. His vocal chords couldn't handle it. Like most punk bands that remain punk throughout... which is not many.

God i love old AFI, and i respect new AFI, but i wish they still made real punk rock.

this a pretty decent cover except for the vox

and to anyone that things otherwise, listen to songs like " Strength Through Wounding" and "God called in Sick Today" and tell me you don't hear the " newer AFI sound" in the distance. Also, they made the Darker and more modern ALT ROCK changes starting with Art of Drowning back in 2000. I saw AFI with Rancid, Davey's hair was longer and he was wearing fishnets and a Bahaus t-shirt. I knew then in 2000 that things were about to be a lot different.

It's funny how people claim that they "changed" all of a sudden... I've been listening to them since 1996. Sure, not the very beginning but pretty damn close to it in perspective. I think that their sound has been a slow progressive change into what it is today and I love all of it. Sure, you take the first 3 albums and put up against sing the sorrow then there is shock very similar to jumping into a really cold pool on a hot day. Sing the sorrow came out a decade ago, get over it!

@hrking25sf Im sorry but thats bullshit. Black Sails, AOD and All Hallows all came out after this and all of them were brilliant. Sing the Sorrow had its moments as well.

Youre probably thinking of the newer Filth from Shelby, NC... they even have a similar looking logo.. This is from the Lookout! Records band Filth from East Bay CA, and theyre from '89 and AFI formed in '91..
