Saw them in concert like a month and a half or so. They're one of the few bands I've heard that are legitimately better live than recorded.
I beg to differ. They play a good show, don't get me wrong, but Davey uses a lot of pitch correction and layering in his recordings, so the live versions are noticably not as crisp as the record. A lot of times his voice is nearly completely drowned out by the band's amplifiers to a point where even he can't hear whether he's hitting the note properly or going flat. I love afi, but their live performances are all about crowd interaction, not how well they can play the songs.
omg tho .. i've seen a buttload of blues/rock/punk/hxc/ska shows at a ton of diff venues in new york and getting it right is like a magical art ..if you ever watch an REM performance everything is creepily perfectly adjusted to project best .. lol believe it or not foreigner would be in my top 10 .. and blue oyster cult .. they can still blow the roof off a place and soundd friggin sweet doin it .. Listen dude thats just asinine I love afi and live they crush it but being on tour for some time kills his bnb voice.
@Dark Enkil There r no pitch anything on the records thats all him the difference is that's multiple takes of the same part till it's perfect. Plus after a lil while when his voice falls off they stop the session and start fresh the next day or 2 later.
@greenghost3737 you can hear the pitch correction software at work. If you have ever listened to the demos and the final tracks back to back you can tell.

Avenged Sevenfold (Chapter Four), Thrice (All That's Left), and AFI (The Leaving Song 2) in Madden 2004, Bullet For My Valentine (4 Words...) in Madden 2006, and AFI (Summer Shudder), Atreyu (Ex's and Oh's), and Rise Against (Drones) in Madden 2007! Such good times!!!!
