AFI - Strength Through Wounding Lyrics
Through our bleeding, we are one.
Through the darkness breaks the light.
Through the light unending pain.
Deify the wretched ones till the darkness comes again.

AFI Strength Through Wounding Comments
I wish it was longer. But maybe it’s perfect because it’s not... what the hell am I saying? Anything they do is amazing.
Great album... One of their best/
This album and the art of drowning are the two best afi albums fite me if you think otherwise
2019 still in darkness
Best AFI album!!!!!!!
This album inspires me to write a book or film about Gráinne Ní Mháille and pirates and witchcraft.
My favorite song of Black sails for some reason, even though its really short
Yes sir!...
Chanting this last night was honestly something I got goosebumps hearing, goosebumps doing, and just plain out can't believe now.
This song live back in 2000 was an orgasm for the soul
They're not emo, they're punk. Duh get your fucking facts straight.
This song is so fucking amazing
lmfao laughing more than I should.
No. AFI is not an emo band.
Man its true. And you kbnow this.
Every band is emo if they put emotion into there music choad
I started that chant!!!! my friends were sayin' how their new shit sucks (which I found it doesn't) started chanting this every one joined
They have NEVER been emo. You need to do more research on AFI's history and the history of emo.
dude i'm bleeding! wait, i'm not haha
i saw them back in like, 98. not as early as i should have. but, they got very lame soon after.
@onecentwise I hate you and love you all at the same time. haha, that must have been amazing.
@radiobath Sir...that must have been awesome. I saw them once at Warped tour 2001 and it was a great show. Seeing that made me realize that this was not just another band! ok
first time i saw afi was my second warped tour, right around the time they released Art of Drowning. I had no idea what to expect having not ever really listened to them. They opened with this song, the crowd was getting crazy pumped up chanting, I feared for my life. Then they went right into Porphyria and all hell broke loose. Sad to say I don't think I'll ever see anything like that again
@OnlyInDreams91 i just looked that up and it sounded soooo retarded
@OnlyInDreams91 I'm actually happy that some people know about Shinobu! But this is the AFI that I started to like a while back. So AFI wins here :/
Happy anniversary to Black Sails in the Sunset!!! <3
@OnlyInDreams91 ....
Shinobu's version is way better.
Wow! I like this. It's interesting, though, that the intro seems like a sped-up version of its successor, "Miseria Cantare," down all the way to the lyrics. :D And, both of those songs have incredible drums.
THOSE DRUMS ARE PURE GENIUS
@ninjazombietv @theeric1203 yes it was either during or before touring for Sing the Sorrow.
@NightmareGanon what are the rest?
@NinjaZombieTV thats ok, thanks. I didn't know vocal nodules had like a permanent effect. But, I'm fairly new to the band and they're going to be opening for a concert im going to next month, so I'm trying to learn some things about them. thanks
@NinjaZombieTV Yes i get that but when did he get them? Like was it after decemberunderground? because his voice sounds a bit different in crash love
@ThreeEvils398 when did that happen?
it should be longer
They played Ever and a Day from AOD..maybe 3 from Crash Love...One B-Sides from DU and the rest from STS and DU on 3-12-10...I was hoping for GCIST and Days of the Phoenix :( but! They still put on a great show :D
They played, "Ever and a Day" from AOD...maybe 3 Crash Love songs and the rest from STS and DU when i saw them 3-12-10.. They didn't play God Called in Sick Today or Days of the Phoenix :( But they still put on a great show! ::D
@newennewen i don't agree, imho miss murder is great, too!
The older stuff rocks hard, nice skatepunk...but the new stuff is bullshit...
Pretty shitty, only like 2 old songs.... when I saw them no fucking Black sails or Art of Drowning :(
But whatever, I have a feeeeeeling the next tour (2013ish) will be good! lol
2017 is pretty stacked
What was their set list like? Mostly newer stuff I'm assuming?
No, it's perfect as it is. It's one of AFI's classic intro songs (which were at least in five albums).
That is so awesome
That's amazing. I've been to a ton of shows, and (sadly) it's rare for them to get up and do an encore. Usually when they do, it's one song and that's it. But for a band to play an entire hour? That's dedication. Playing on stage is not easy. Not to mention, the employees at the venue are PISSED at having to work late. AFI just gained so much respect from me because of your story.
When I saw AFI back in early 2003, they opened with this. From what I remember, it wasn't planned. The whole crowd started screaming "Through our bleeding, we are one!" once the roadies finished setting up the stage. The chant went on for almost 5 minutes before they jumped right into it.
me either, something just sparked an old flame in me, and I find myself still loving old AFI.
faved. sounds like a chant.
This sounds kinda like a prayer that was turned into a song. It's really amazing! I love it!
