It sounds like this song didn't make it to the final stages of production. Very stripped back instrumentally on the verses and Davey sounds flat at certain parts. But despite all of that, it's a fucking great song. Beautiful, even.

mentalguy316 this is a b-side from the Decemberunderground sessions. First it was available as a digital download when you bought DU at Target. Later on, it was on the vinyl version of DU.

You're not alone there. It's sad to say but I've loved every single record they've put out until Crash Love. I just feel like Crash Love is lack luster somehow it hard to explain but there seems to be no depth to the record and only a few of the songs make any kind of impact. Sadly, for my taste the whole record seems pale and sickly when compared to their previous efforts.

SOMBERAMARATH I agree with you. It didn’t seem to have any real depth. But you also have to think of them as people, Decemberunderground had done so well and all the pressure they must have felt and crash love has a few good ones but nothing I go back and listen to regularly like the other albums. I barely go back to burials either but I do when I want to feel something darker. But I feel they have formed into something amazing now because of all they experienced. I’m rambling.

I agree, I thought the video was pretty badass too but most people I've talked to about AFI seem to disagree *shrugs*

I remember being ridiculously obsessed with this song. I didn't discovery it until after I had completely worn out Decemberunderground. Finding this song was rather refreshing and it just fed my addiction along with the other B-Sides.

Everyone always says Third Season is AFI's cheesiest song. I'd have to say this, Fallen like the Sky is by far the cheesiest. Seems like the made this song while taking a dump.

@AFIROXBIGTIME I see it as being a metaphor for humanity and its unfortunate depravity. The "strange creatures" are people. The "mystic games of strength" and "endless games of hate" are wars. "They [the soldiers] were the lonely once too" is saying that all of that hatred that people have to deal with is what drives them to hate others. It's a beautiful meaning if you have zero faith in your species. :)

I know what you mean AllRockAintEmo seriously I love A Fire Inside so much I heard this song a while back and forgot about it until I was watching some old live vids I had and was like "OMGI I love this one too!" ^.^

No Clandestine was a short video that was part of a mystery a while back.. well a long time now like it twas around STS. idk you can google 337/Clandestine Mystery if you wanna know more about it.. twas pretty awesome.
