Classic album. Still love AFI even though they transitioned from hardcore punk to post-hardcore/emo/goth rock. A talented band regardless.

I personally don't care if they go back to being punk again but it would at least be nice if they'd bring back the aggression to their music. Don't get me wrong I like everything this band has put out, however the last two albums really could have used some heavier songs. Yeah Sing The Sorrow was a huge departure for the band and had a number of songs that were more accessible than what they had done in the past but it still had heavier more aggressive songs like But Home is Nowhere, Dancing Through Sunday, Death of Seasons, Now The World, The Leaving Song Pt.2 to balance it out. Hell even December Underground had Kiss and Control and Kill Caustic (not a big fan of that one but it helps make my point). No most of those songs are not punk but they still show that AFI had far from turned into a pop band. On a side note absolutely nobody should've been as surprised by the direction AFI took on STS as they were. They had been slowly progressing in that direction since the Black Sails album.

Everybody knows their punk roots ...you just shouldn't forget they were once a pretty sweet band....and if you were a fan of afi at all then you know you were probably a pretty hardcore fan like me at one time.....

I miss this AFI. But i cant hate on them for changing their sound and making money. Why give a shit? Enjoy the old good AFI and dont listen to the new shit. Seriously how hard is it? Or do the people complaining that they "sold out" really have nothing more important to do with their lives?

@cbilljones Well sound changes with time. As much as I'd love to see AFI go back to the way they were before, I know personally as a musician your music changes with the different things you experience. Plus, they're not just a band because you want them to be, they're a band so they can make money. And if that kind of music is what people want to hear, then by all means let them hear it.

@astrophysics1997 meaning there not punk, they are now closer to nsynch then the dead Kennedys, or any other relevent punk rock band. They now actually represent the very opposite of punk rock, or at least they tried to before they became irrelevant like every other lolipop band.

These guys are from my home town.
There choice in style currently has disappointed a lot of people I know, but this album is still reallly really good, and will forever be one of my favorite albums of all time.

I still love AFI, old and new stuff. They just evolved, that's all they did. I think it's kind of admirable that they can do so many different styles and still have so many fans. Everyone has different tastes, but that doesn't mean you should stop listening to a band just because they changed their style or the music isn't how you think it should be.

I've actually never heard of that fan club...that means I'm definitely not part of it. XD But what are they about? I mean, like....what kind of creepy stuff do they do? (Maybe we should move this conversation to private messages, btw, so as not to clutter the vid comments).

Perhaps it is not my place to mention, but I felt inclined to say that some of us cannot help but enjoy the music and be serious about it whilst enjoying the appearance of the band members, lol. =] I think the music is also what makes them so, at least, for me. :D I love all of AFI's stuff, btw, old and new just cuz I'm a music whore, though I can understand why others wouldn't. 8D *runs away* Sry for the kinda pointless comment XD;
