AFI - Coin Return Lyrics
I have slipped and I have fallen so far down I can't get out.
Overwhelmed by my doubt.
Things I said I'd never do I've done.
Those I said I'd never be I've become.
I have broken - I'm still breaking - cracked and wrecked, beyond repair.
Recalled. Smacks me in the face every time I fall.
I cannot disregard, with each new fall I hit twice as hard.
Would you be there for me? I would.
I would be there for you. I would.
Would you look up to see?
I would. falling forward and looking up.

This song goes in. Love the mastering on adams drums for this album. Snares beautiful
Best Hardcore/Horror Punk band imo
I hope you all like these fucking sick effects I put on this video for some reason 9 years ago. My favorite is 1:40
The only album ill usually listen to
One of the best AFI song when AFI was still AFI, there's an EP after this with the original lineup, but Answer, Very Proud of Ya and this album, man. Everyone left the band except the bassist (arguably, probably Davey's lover, Adam, I don't care though, he made old school hardcore punk AFI memorable with his bass lines almost before every riff changes. But seriously they should have changed names. It's hard to explain why I have AFI albums (from the 90's) and 7 inch's, gotta explain they were a totally different band then, different guitarists, different drummer, the original drummer actually was a big time song writer, that's rare.
i love this focking song !!!
@1:32 the line should be "I cannot.....disregard......with each new record, we suck, twice as hard"
I'm a huge AFI fan, but in all honesty I think they only got great with Black Sails and onwards, once it was all four of the current lineup, and once they really got good. And I'm going to be honest too and say I prefer when Davey is actually singing rather than just screaming...though I certainly don't mind a mixture of both. The first three albums aren't BAD, I don't have it in me to hate anything by AFI, but I really only love Black Sails and everything after.
+Jon Strummer Hell yeah it's their best sound, and it's embarassing to have to explain how different of a band (down to the personal) they were from this album and before (well there's the A Fire Inside EP, after that, they're emo-goth, whatever, they mixed the goth of the misfits and the cure with the current (early 2000's current) emo trend started by fucking Tom Delonge in that video clip he made as himself, like I think he recorded a single album by himself not in a band and it was what started a LOT of awful shit.
+a person on the internet It wasnt just the estrogen right? lol
so apparently you know one album of their old stuff...
Putting out the same old stuff every year
dude, Sing the Sorrow was a great album. honestly not one AFI album sounds the same they change almost dramatically every year. They went from oi-oi punk to a little more hardcore, then very hard core, to a little more horror punk then electronic goth punk then pretty much electronica rock then like edgy pop punk and I don't even know what to call crash love because that album really does suck honestly but I think they're awesome for changing up their style constantly and not (continued)
best afi album for sure
I really hate everyone's bitching about my favorite band -__-
there new music might not appeal to older fans (me included in most cases) but they didn't just change out of nowhere they have been continuously progressing.look at shut your mouth and black sails compared to very prod of you answer that and stay fashionable
agreed!
I miss this Afi
@Melvin0082 I don't know about true hardcore, but it's good music none the less.
@CJKeaton nah u. mad.
i feel kinda sick seeing (almost) everyone bash on "new" afi. i mean YEAH i prefer their hardcore stuff more, but i still like their new stuff. who cares if they changed their style for the money? it's hard sustaining a decent life without it. besides, they even said that they changed because they were getting bored with it. and i agree, i wouldn't want to write the same thing for 8 albums. but yeah, i'm not looking to start an argument, i'm just stating my opinion. quit hatin'.
Best song off the album hands down.
@6worship6nothing6 You're ignorant. Why would they change if they we're doing fine in the first place? They grow as artists. Start having different influences & inspiration. Run outta ideas for a certain "style" of music. As a musician for over 12 years, I fully understand why peoples music change.
let me ask you this...
say for example you do porn, and some big porn director comes to you and says, "Hey, we think you got real potential, how bout' doing gay porn for 10 million dollars?" Would you say, "No way, I'm not getting a dick in my ass, no matter how much." OR.... Would you lie back and take it, knowing how humiliating the whole situation is but at the same time knowing how much money you'er making off this shit?
This is what happened to AFI
people do terrible thing for money....
Ha I was reading your comments and thinking "Damn, somebody really know what they're talking about."
And then i saw your username.
Of course.
I was also stage diving to this shit in 1999. So I think I have a right to talk shit to all these new fans. I saw AFI two weeks ago and only 4 people knew the words to Triple Zero. And don't talk shit about the east coast. I remember talking to Davey in th 90's, and him telling me how much he looked up to Sick Of It All
i love it when people say "Oh I love AFI's new and old stuff." I bet you that AFI's first three albums are the only hardcore they have on their ipod. I think Black Sails and TAOD were albums where they wanted to experiment musically. Everything after TAOD is commercialized bullshit. Seeing that video of Davey Havok singing Straight Edge Revenge gave me hope, but Crash Love soon ruined those dreams
Exactly!
Stop arguing about the music! I like the new stuff AND the old stuff, but here's a really good idea: If you don't like the new stuff... DON'T LISTEN TO IT! Oh my God! Someone with a sensible solution! Is that crazy or what? I mean, the olds stuff is awesome, the new stuff is awesome. If they didn't change up the sound, it would get boring. I think they are evolving nicely as a band.
haha take that back after december underground.
i will love AFI no matter what happens
emo suck old afi rocks!!!
god i miss the old afi..they where a much better punk band then emo...
Anyone else think he kinda sounds like Timmy from South Park? BAD ASS!!
To make money.
does anyone know why afi left nitro records?
so much power in this album..i miss it :(
holy shit =( wow the sound its sick but its so sad how a good band can changue to a piece of crap, i miss the old afi
I am more into metalcore and death metal and all of that, but I love this stuff, too.
Why did AFI have to ruin what they had?
God damn it...
fuxk ,,,, i love this song from AFI ,the best old school i love the lyrics in the time 2:17 until 2:29 time i really like
damnn, they used to be so fuckin amazing
I love this song. <3
