I love their punk style, I love their new alternative/popish kind of style. I love all of their music. These guys will forever be my favorite band. Can't wait to see them live on may 30th =D.

same here I found out about AFI 2 years ago due to Miss Murder and I love old AFI and new AFI their sound has matured musically they did not sell out their music is not emo they're rock and previously punk if you don't like their new stuff fine just don't listen to it its not required to like every song out there by AFI but don't call them sell outs because they've changed Jade and Davey both stated that they don't write songs because its what the fans want to hear its what they want to play

See, I love old AFI but if it wasn't for their new stuff, and a few friends, I may have never gotten introduced to it. I love all the AFI CDs for certain reasons whether it's old punk or new Alternative. Yes, Single Second happens to be my favorite song but that's not saying I don't like Death of Seasons, Kiss and Control, or Love Like Winter. And no, I don't feel they've sold out. I think they just matured musically.

I agree. Personally, i like their new music better. If a lot of other people like their old music more, then fine, no problem, all the power to them. Not to mention how people put it, it'd be extremely refreshing to see something like "to be honest, I don't like AFI's newer music. I think their old music is much better."

No it's not. It's called changing your sound. They said for a while that their next album would be unlike what they'd done before, as to not become repetitive. No, selling out is when you go pop and abandon your fans. When KISS did a disco album, just to sell records, that was selling out. AFI is doing a new, but very original sound, and not going pop. Oh, and by the way, you REALLY need to calm down. Just because you disagree with me doesn't mean you should curse me out.

nobody gets it, its not that the band changed, i mean they sound great here and on the all hallows e.p. but the real problem is that the image changed from hardcore to emo which alot of people don't like and that now all thier lyrics are about cryin and cuttin themselves not to mention that the music sounds cheap and over produced

I was brought up on old AFI like most of you I'm sure. I couldn't knock their new style at all because they still have a cult following with both styles of their music. Its just kinda sad that the old albums aren't really acknowledged by the band anymore

Incorrect. They never went "Emo". Davey and Jade have said many times that they are very uncomfortable being called "Emo". Sure they were great as a punk band, I won't deny that. Their music is alot more deep now. Its a little depressing but not emo, okay? They have messages to get across and do that by making their songs sad. So don't say they got worse, they simply changed, nothing more.
