The name intrigued me so I gave it a listen. Great garage pop sound but better than that, the songs have cool construction and arrangement. Metal with a groove. Strange I never heard of them.
Saw my eighth Whigs concert tonight in Detroit. Sounded great, but it sucks to be a "long time fan" having to listen to new stuff. I had the same opinion of the U2 concert a few weeks ago.
Agreed on U2. Not on the Whigs though. they just don't like to repeat themselves. Their newer stuff, if you give it a try, is pretty good.
Did they not do much stuff from Congregation, Gentleman, or Black Love? Either way, I am going to see them in May and it will be my first Whigs concert even though I have love them since 93! I am so excited to see them!!

This album was very much a product of its time. Their sound in this phase reminds me of Soul Asylum and Buffalo Tom even if it was more aggressive than those two bands.

Been skimming their albums for an hr now and skipped each one but I am able to settle on this one. Pretty cool. In my 30yrs I cant remember ever talking about them or anyone mentioning them to me so I guess I found them here but who knows. As of right now this album is pretty cool. Listenable at at least.

Great band. They grew a lot. I saw them in '88 and wasn't very impressed. Saw them at the 9:30 club in D.C. with The Fluid in '92. They were impressive.
H.I. McDunnough just saw them monday. Spectacular but very loud. Almost too loud for the place I was at.
