Aerosmith - Jesus Is On The Main Line Lyrics
Jesus is on that mainline... tell him what you want
Jesus is on that mainline... tell him what you want
Jesus is on that mainline... tell him what you want
You gotta call him up and tell him what you want
Oh... the line ain't never busy... tell him what you want
The line ain't never busy... tell him what you want
Call him up... and tell him what you want
Now... if you're feeling down and out... tell him what you want
If you're feeling down and out... tell him what you want
If you're feeling down and out... tell him what you want
Call him up and tell him what you want
If you're sick and you want to get well... tell him what you want
If you're sick and you want to get well... tell him what you want
You gotta call him up and tell him what you want
If your soul's in danger... tell him what you want
If your soul's in danger... tell him what you want
If your soul's in danger... tell him what you want
Call him up and tell him what you want
Jesus is on that mainline... tell him what you want
Jesus is on that mainline... tell him what you want
Jesus is on that mainline... tell him what you want
You gotta call him up and tell him what you want

Aerosmith Jesus Is On The Main Line Comments
It's a blues but with a gospel feeling. The blues may have been called the devils music, but many practicing Christians have and still do sing and play the blues.
Thank you dear google agents for restoring this when I rebooted the pc today- a beautiful way to start the day!!!.... Hymn 43 is next up : )
I've always wanted an Aerosmith gospel album . It's the emotion, the feeling, the soulfulness of Steve Tyler. This is as close as it gets :). This was one of my grandmother's favorite songs. She would sing it in church. Thank you Aero for putting on BoBo.
White Rockers came into the Black Communities and mined music that was sacred to us so they could make millions of dollars. The African American musicians couldn't get a contract so they could earn money from their original songs. White teens just starting out in the music business would go to Mississippi and other farms in the deep south and learn how to play the guitar and sing Negro songs. They got the good record contracts and made millions of dollars from Negro songs and music while the original artists died poor, sick and penniless....many still existing in their tar paper shacks. They didn't even get recognition or royalties for their work. And it is shameful. This horrible sounding song you are listening is a Negro Spiritual that we sing in church. Listen to the original people singing our songs. Listen to Mississippi Mass Choir singing Jesus is on the Main Line. "Call Him Up"
Musica Flowerchild fuck off
I agree Musica Flowechild. Rich white people did steal this music from black people, and they steal from all poor people. It's because human devils worship the god of money and war, and the "poor folk" they steal from usually worship the God of love and mercy and just want to live in peace. It's pretty easy to steal from people who do not steal, they cannot believe it could happen because they don't do it, so they're easy targets for thieves.
GOD'S PHONE NUMBER IS: --JEREMIAH 33:3
'Call to me, and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.'

Luciano Garcia Lol Jesus isn’t real.
miaaaaau
I want you! For the love!
Great..!!!!!
Very good this song!
This song is unbiblical. I like it but once you listen to the words it should become apparent that this song is a very selfish one. "Call him up and tell him what you want". When did it ever become "what we want" instead of "what he wants?" Jesus' few words before exiting the garden was "nevertheless, not my will, but your will be done", or not what I want, but rather what you want be done.
gary thompson You're basically saying "don't pray to God unless you make it all about him and how great he his." And yes, blessings come from praise, but nothing comes from BLIND worship (dishonesty)
Formless Shot No beloved, that's not what I am stating. We see those kinds of prayerful songs in the psalms and yet our heart utter some of those same things at times. I simply posed a question. There's a difference between philosophical theology and biblical theology. I'm not saying the song is evil, neither am I a bigot.
gary thompson Ah OK. I dunno about that question, it rubs me the wrong way. But I think I get ya a little more
Formless Shot do me a favor, reread my post slowly and read it in context of what is said. love you brother. shalom
Steven does sing "Tell Him what you need". I don't think it selfish at all.

+gary thompson this is about jesus being your cradle your Rock your guide your spiritual dad and yet he is our brother and said we will do more :)
+Rick Pettit I believe that to be true, but, that is not what the lyrics state. I love all forms of music that are theologically edifying and Christ glorifying. I'm not asking for talking about person interpretation, but ate the lyrics to this song theologically sound? If so, where? I'm not calling this song bad, or evil, actually I like it and people in the congregation I'm with sing it, but just like so many other things we do that are cool, but not biblical, what about the lyrics to this song. Thank you family.
gary thompson where in any reading biblical or otherwise does it not say we cannot ask for things. We pray for other people to be healed for this that and the next thing. Its always been about what we want. Here is the clincher though we also pray that it be gods will that these things be done
If my words are in you, you will ask what you will and it will be done to you.
There's good evidence showing the bible is a tool of bondage designed by the Roman Emperors to subdue and confuse the children of the Gnostic Christian's who they had raped, pillaged and taken captive. They're all still captive to this day. The oppression needs to end. The most important thing to God is love, same with Jesus Christ- just simply to love.
very refreshing to see the diversity of aerosmith...
Gospel, blues, whatever.. This is awesome.
It's a blues song, not really gospel. Lots of blues artists have covered it.
Its awesome, I def recomend it :)
Its awesome!!!
I just saw it at wal mart for 5 bucks in a discount bin, and never seen this album (CD)..so wanted to check this song out first before pitching the big bucks in.
one can be dragged
Jesus illustrated selfless love and spiritual alingment by voluntary goin to the cross amist insurmountable odds, knowin the inveatable outcome. So you & me would know the connection is inside us..Luke 17: 20 & 21. By crusifying the flesh voluntary the spirit live & you dont have to die if you do it voluntarily ..eternal life..amazing folks cant get their heads 'round that xcept the hard way...that way there's no guarantee..think bout it
Best cd from Aerosmith in years. Sure they had some very good hits off their other cd's but this hole cd is great, every song.
@LeanMean500 :)
@hsm234566 Joe did make instrumental music with religion, but you're right about the not normal part.
@KnopflerTheofanous Correct. At least you know their history. I did a report on Joe Perry in 8th grade and I got an A. Good times, and I'm only 17. :D
@sueellen360 Agreed.
This album didnt get great reviews, but I loved it and still do!
Great job by the Greatest group ever. Never forget you have a higher power.
i think that steven started singing when he was 6 in church...
@sueellen360 that's so cool i never realized he was a christian. That would be soo cool to meet him in church...i think I'd probably faint.
This is cool that they did this with a gospel! I don't think that Steven Tyler was really a christian, so good for him.
